[Quick n Fast]

so I just went to go get some MC n I noticed that as a canadian I have to pay 29% more for my MC... WTF??
I went to go get 6500mc for 29.95 an they wanna charge me 38.60!! that's almost 30% more then what It says.. but if I was in the US they would only charge me the 29.95 whats the deal with that???
ive gotten MC before in the past like maybe 6+ months ago.. they never charged me 30% more..

Its cause of the Cdn to US exchange rate.

But it does seem odd that a Canadian company would charge Canadians in USD, they ask for your postal code when you give your credit card info so they know were you live.

In 2012 when the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar I ended up paying less. If I remember correctly, that was the last time I bought MC.

I live in Atlantic Canada in the middle of bum "bleep" nowhere and we have 13% tax plus conversion to US dollars...when i buy MC i take out another mortgage!

I remember that. That's what happens when you invest in your country by only buying products produced in your country. I think tourism was down that yr too cause are dollar was too high lol

Yeah that's the exchange rate for you. The Canadian dollar is kept low on purpose by our government so that our exports ( for instance the petrol coming from the oil sands in alberta ) are attractive to buyers abroad. On the other hand it really messes with the average canadian's spending power especially when buying goods online or in foreign currency.

Then again it could be worse, used to have clanmate from Trinidad & Tobago... you don't want to know how much he paid for his Clan Wave III pack...

That's not what socialism is, fyi. Socialism is government management of the means of production, and the military is not a means of production.

Socialism is defined as, "a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole."

The military is like...the complete opposite of that. If anything, the military is capitalist, by protecting the nation's interests, which may include the protection of corporate assets that are vital to the US economy.

But what would I know? I've only spent 9 years in it. I pay taxes, vote, and have no say in how the military operates or where they go, just like any other US citizen.

In terms of socialism, for the last 9 years in Canada we've had a Prime Minister who is basically George W. Bush especially when it comes to foreign policy. The current president of the USA is socialist in comparison. Not that I think socialism is a bad thing at all... it has an ugly side but goodness knows capitalism's ugly side is even worse.
