A ballistic in the right torso would be pretty intersting, even if its a little similar to the Flame. Boatloads of missile hardpoints would be my second choice. I think the Thunderbolt already has energy and mixed builds well represented. I wouldn't mind ECM but I suspect that would be crossing the pay to win line in the eyes of many.

Nerfed as clanners cry how op it is and unfair to their godmode mechs if its any good.

Cry harder terribad. It's the pilot not the mech.

As long as the AC20 isn't to far down on the torso, I think the ballistic hard points on the orion and cataphract are really not effective and it would suck to be like that on the Thunderbolt.

I could see the ballistic hardpoint(s) being high mount on the right torso where the missiles normally are. If it was mounted lower (like on the left torso), I don't think mounting them where the left torso energy normally sits would be bad. It's not sniper height, but it isn't knuckle dragger height either.

yeah but since the TDR in no way plays like or has hitboxes like the Flame, don't see the issue. Only so many places available to slap guns on mechs.

I still would prefer a pair of AC5 (one can always slap a 20 on if they want) mounted where the 9S has it's PPCs .....errr..."flamers".

Looking like a pair of antiaircraft gun.

I'm betting torso mounted ballistics hard points to make AC20 an option.

I think that the TDR-5S would be good, respecting the lore too (about McAllister)
Transferring the 2 ballistic hardpoint from left arm to right torso, where usually we have 2 missile hardpoints.

For instance (imagining that 2ac5 tons = ac20+2tons of ammo), it is possible to have a ac20 with 3,5 tons of ammo + 4mpl and a good speed for brawl

Or,also, swapping the ac20 for 2 ac5, building a medium range Thunder (high mounted 2ac5! a lot of fun!)

Once upon a time, i wished for a zombie TDR. Pointless in the modern MWO. :(

Being mysefl a napoleonic era grognard, I strongly recommend MacAllister!

edit: on a side note, best uniform in war history, for instance:

Yep.

Epic hero. My favorite napoleonic general B)

edit: I hope the thunder hero will be the McAllister one, so maybe we could have a camo similar to that uniform! :D

And sadly pgi will sell this:

Hero Mechs for July 7th Thunderbolt 'Tallman' Energy Boat no JJ 9 energy hard points, quirks might be just range, but probably armor or mobility..

Another laser boat...
LOL, really?
Because what we have and will have with resistance 3 wasn't enough?

The bright side is: I'll spare a lot of MC.

Genuinely gutted about the T-bolt, would love to have seen an ELH themed hero with some added 1812 flavour.

Very excited for the 5S-T, I just hope it will actually be better than the 5SS or else what is the point.

Can't say I'm surprised

but OMG the colours *puke*

a napoleonic camo would have been so much better

Still its the wolverine for me that really matters
