1. Quickdraw: Without any shadow of doubt in my mind the Undisputed Heavy-Weight Champion of needing to be rescaled. This thing should be comparable in height to a Dragon with the width and "thickness" of a Wolverine. It shouldn't be almost double the volume of those mechs and looking eye-level at an Atlas.

2. Catapult: Unquestionably out of scale even before the graphics update . . . the update didn't help it any. The thing is very close in size to a Stalker and takes up more volume, by far . . . especially after you tack on the "VCR Racks" when you add in more missiles.

3. Centurion: Another one that's needed help for a long time. It's both tall and wide for its size. The only thing that's ever really saved this mech, over time, has been it's good zombie capabilities.

4. Trebuchet: See Centurion, although the Trebuchet is suffering a little more in the height department and a little less in the width department. It also doesn't have the ability to Zombie, so it doesn't have quite the redeeming qualities.

5. Grasshopper: While it is 15 tons heavier than the Quickdraw, it still stuffers from the same problem. It's just far too tall. It should be far more comparable in height to a Summoner/Thor rather than being even taller than a Quickdraw.

Honorable Mentions:

Awesome(6) and Nova(7) - While the heights aren't terrible, the widths of these things are wretched, which unfortunately give them bad hit-boxes and a reputation for being poorly sized. One can only hope that the Awesome will be getting some love via the Graphical rework coming on July 7th according to the town hall.

Dragon(8) - Sadly, this thing is scaled pretty good everywhere except one spot . . . the god-forsaken snout on this thing. The only thing I can dream of is that the graphical rework (which is purportedly coming out on July 7th for all the remaining mechs but the Stalker) for this poor mech will squish the snout some, and make the mech more manageable. Can we get a "Luxury Dragon" like the luxury cats, where the snout has been squished into the face and making the thing more compact? I can live with that.

Sadly, they want top 5, otherwise I'd be throwing these 3 into the list with their attached rankings.

1: Awesome - The side torsos needs the be shrunk. i will never use it since i'm a Light/fast medium mech kinda guy, but even so it needs it the most.
2: Centurion - It's almost the size of the Awesome despite the weight difference.
3: Trebuchet - I've heard it's even taller than the Centurion. I use it.
4: Quickdraw - I use it and yet it's at 4th place.
5: Kit Fox- My favorite of all mechs in MWO. The Adder needs it just as much though.

Here is something weird you probably didn't know. Raven is longer from beak to rear than the Spider is tall.
I saw a Raven lying with the beak straight up right in front of a spider. Tip of the Ravens beak was taller than the Spider.

But sadly PGI doesn't give a damn about scaling. It's too much work for them to change all the mechs.
The more mechs that gets released the more work it would take.

3. Quickdraw
4. Centurion
5. Victor

Sorry Grasshopper's are supposed to be tall and lanky, imo they're just fine, same with warhawks. Although the dire wolf could stand to be a bit beefer or a little taller to help distinguish it from the Warhawk.

You realize that this discussion is because Russ tasked Tina to find out the five worst to look at fixing at the Town Hall, right?

Wow...that's news to me. Haven't seen the town hall video. Thanks for the info.
Reason i believed they didn't give a damn is because we Founders have been complaining about mech scaling since we saw the Centurion and the Awesome for the first time ingame.

Trebuchet and Centurion need to be shorter. Spider should be taller. Awesome and QuickDraw need a diet. Urbie needs to be at tall as Commando.

1. Grasshopper - ridiculously oversized
2. Catapult - oversized
3. Zeus - way too small
4. King Crab - so small, I thought it is a medium mech the first time I saw one
5. Commando - too small (actually all the light mechs are too small)

Vulture and Madcat are not too small but both are too short. They should be longer from front to back.

I think it is very clear, which mechs need rescale. There has been an image for years that shows the situation:

((Brief Aside: can we get a hill climb override for the Quickdraw while we’re at it? Sarna specifically states that the Quickdraw’s leg and ankle actuators are of a special design allowing it to traverse gradients 12 degrees steeper than other ‘Mechs of its type/weight. If that isn’t a picture-perfect example of what a MWO quirk should be, I do not know what is.))

Agreed. I so wish the only quirks in the game were durability ones that exist based either on Lore or on balancing out bad hitboxes (which may be required to make the mech look correct) and quirks like this one. With a bit of research, almost every chassis type in the game could probably get some interesting quirks or two that do something unique other than reduce time to kill and lock the mech into a specific loadout.

To keep this on topic, you're also correct about Warhawks. They need something - right now, they get focused down until they are scrap - followed by "oops, I thought that was a Dire Wolf. I wondered why it died so fast..."

Do you consider Thunderbolt too big or too small?

The Thud is actually grossly oversized. Compare it to Jager, for example. The only reason folks don't notice this as much is because there are similar badly oversized mechs near the same weight (Catapults and Quickdraws) and the Thud has a few playable versions thanks to stupidly good Quirks. But it is the Quirks that are propping this mech up. Otherwise, it would be nothing but a HUGE wall of torso that just dies.

1. Quickdraw - 60 tonner that's the size of a 90 tonner
2. Catapult - 65 tonner that's actually bigger than a 85 tonner (even though that 85 tonner is pretty underscaled - Stalker)
3. Grasshopper - 70 tonner that's as tall as 90-100 tonners.
4. Trebuchet - too tall
5. Centurion - too tall and wide

Edit: Goodbye Black Hawk, OP didn't like my cheats.

Fine. You win this time, OP. Here's a revised list of mine.

Since most are posting their top 5s it might be better to account that as well. Add all the place numbers each person assigned to a mech and the one with lowest score wins. For example most are putting Quickdraw in their list at places between 1-3, it is obvious it will receive the lowest score and thus be the first to receive a (possible) rescale pass, while other mechs that aren't normally put on the first places yet still mentioned as 4th or 5th will receive a proper evaluation on where they stand right now.

Hope that makes sense

Might be able to widen the mech list then and include more mechs than just the ones you'd like to be rescaled because they are your personal favorites.

Looks like they need to redo the top 7or8 and that would fix the majority of the problem.
