Though, not everyone has the access to a 3d printer, I am reorganizing the 3D model and the 3D printable parts... Stay tuned!

It's been my first Battlemech within MechForce Germany, back then in 1993. I hated it in the first place, because of the short range armament. But after four kills in chapterfights ... I started to appreciate it.

Last post before....paint!

Everything is constructed and loosely assembled, now "all"I have to do is settle on the camo scheme. Probably is gonna be a urban/digital camo, with some highlights.
And decals! Got me a set of inkjet printable water decal papers, thats gonna be fun.

The final result is awesome. Are 3D Printers really that accurate?! Just incredible. By the way paint it blue, Steiner blue!

Well, yes, if you know how to work them There is a whole lot of trial and error before I got to where I am now. In total, I've printed through a whole roll of filament, about 30-40 meters of the stuff. Still, that's only 35 euro

I have kids of my own, which take up enough time and energy. I could have finished this thing by now...

I am thinking going the "proper" way. As the 4G is a urban/brawler, just straight up Urban Camo:

This is called, British Berlin Camo, or something like that. Apparently it works so well, that the Russian copied it during the Cold War

One more vote here for Steiner Blue Urban camo!!

I think a monotone paint with some highlights would work best to be able to appreciate all the modeled details. Or at least a camo without little intricate patterns that make the physical details hard to see.
