The Iic Concept Arts Make Me Sad

Do they really think they can balance IIC and second line clan mechs when we clearly don't have balance between the current IS mechs and clan omnimechs yet?
I agree that those concept art designs look terrible. Either Alex didn't do these, or they rushed him so much he didn't have time to do a good job on them.

it will be... painful i think

By the way, IIC 'mechs aren't refits; They are built as new Clan battlemechs from the ground up. They are easier to produce than the omnimechs, being less resource-intensive. Inner Sphere refits with Clan tech are referred to as just "C" models. For example, the Atlas C, as opposed to an Atlas IIC (which actually doesn't exist).

Are you looking at the same Orion IIC I am, because I see a clearly offset cockpit, and I think the Highlander IIC looks like a nice cross between Alex's rework and the IIC TRO art.
I think they all look wonderful, and now I need another wetnap and smoke, excuse me...

The Jenner IIC looks amazing, and frankly the Highlander IIC is a chance for the modeling team to not jack up Alex's art again. If the Highlander IIC keeps that magnificant RA supergun, and doesn't end up with 98lb Internet nerdwimp arms like the original Highlander did?
Well. They may add one more assault 'mech to the exclusive list of Fatbros 1453R Consents to Pilot.
But seriously. Seriously. Dat Jenner IIC. It almost looks like a missile-laden Fire Falcon. It will be insanely, deliciously fast. It will jump. It gets to do the Oxide's job with half-weight SRM launchers. Move over, Huggz - your days as the premier lightweight missile cruiser are very, very numbered.

I'll probably go Jenner and Hunchback, don't much care for the rest.
Jenny don't do nothing for me, nor really, the Orion (though both might be interesting based on variants) but I woul dlove to get the HBK and HGN. rawr.

And I have to say, almost every concept he made was top ten or et least just great.
But these ones?
No.
Plain rejection.
WTF was done to the bulky, edgy war-machines from earlier concept-arts?
Why the hell all this roundness, smooth curves and oddly reshaped geometry?
Instead of being improved and mean mechs, we have some "Monster-Clowns from Outer Space".
Looking bad, man.

Assuming no hardpoint inflation as a means of once again trying to balance the things, the Jenner IIC will be able to do 3x cSRM-6 at ~166 Tweak'd with jump jets. Fits neatly into Ghost Heat, finally competes with Spheroid Meth Lights in the footrace department, and with hitreg fixes incoming we may see SRM Splat actually work again.
I'm not saying this will be the next light wolfpack Bogeyman...but this is totally the next light wolfpack Bogeyman. Poor Cheetah will get hardly any time to shine.
