I've got a question:

Why the (o) variants are the ones that SUCK the most?... too much fun is prohibited?

Also why the extra clan colors are all different shades of grey?

um... does anyone here feels like that the hunchie IIC may have problems with field of view?... dem hunches.

It's packing 2 UAC20s, and enough armor to make even a light mech go "Bro, that's too little armor". It needed the big hunches. The Shadowhawk has a worse set up. However, I think the HBK might end up blinding the pilot, since the gun flashes will be right in the pilot's face (for an approximation, try the Pirate's Bane, with Machine guns).

i meant why they (O variants) are outclassed by the standard variants by such a big margin?
Is there any reason to use the (O)s when you have jenner-IIC-A and HBK-IIC-C?

I hope they consider changing it like they did with the zeus.

The (O) variants give us a 30% C-Bill boost, which is a big advantage, already. That's how I see it.

The Jenner IIc is making me nostalgic for Mechwarrior 2 - it's the same mech with the same variants. Not that I ever used it much, but anyway

do you get payed less frequently than once a month?

there is until the end of July to get the early adopter rewards, that is more than a full months notice.

All depends on what you wanna do with it... The HBK-IIC has 4 ballistic hardpoints... If you leave everything else, you could mount 3 UAC5s with 5 tons of ammo, and 2 ermls for backup... That 50 ton mech has almost as much firepower and sustainability as my Cauldron Born... (albeit with MUCH less armor)

The JR7-IIC has 6 missile slots! While, the 4th variant might be better to have the 30% boost with 6 energy, 6 missile hardpoints is nothing to sneeze at! Trimming the engine down to an XL300, and removing 3 JJs lets you boat 6 SRM6s on a light mech! (granted, at 3 tons of ammo to feed it, you will only be able to murder one or two mechs) But if you knocked it down to 6 SRM4, you could wreak all kinds of hell. That is a vicious machine.

Orion.... Yeah, 4th variant is best for me... Dual gauss babeh!

All of the Highlanders look roughly even...

Regrading the HBK, you can always go with the HBK-IIC-C with 2 UAC10s instead of 3xUAC5s... the bonus is you will get 2 actuator enabled arm energy hardpoints.

Regarding the jenner, well, take a look again at IIC-3 and IIC-A one has 4E+2M other has 6E... both superior to 6M no matter what play style you enjoy the most. With IIC-3 you can go 2x artemis enabled srm6s backed by lasers or go full laser vomit on the IIC-A.

umm...that's the whole point. Why would i even start this discussion if it was not for (exactly) that.... too much fun is prohibited?

On the HBK, you can do the same build and zombie with the c torso lasers... It's a trade off, but that's a matter of preference, not outright better... Also, have you ever used 3 UAC5s?it is a terrifying amount of firepower. I've stood toe to toe with a dire wolf in my Cauldron Born and made them back off more often than not.

I disagree about the JR7, I'm really stoked to have that 6 missile mech :P That thing will be a barrel and a half of fun. I LOVE murdering mechs with my 6 SRM6 Mad Dog. Doing it at 150 kph will be even more fun >:3 Lasers may have more staying power, but a 72 alpha on a light mech is unheard of destructive potential.

It remains to be seen if you can change the engine though.

I'm seriously tempted to get these, I only have one clan mech and I've wanted to branch out but I've always liked the overall aesthetic of the IS mechs, with these I get the best of both worlds.

No it doesn't... All the mechs have stock engine, and max engine stats on their listing. If they couldn't change, it wouldn't show higher engine capacity.

You can go zombie with IIC-C too, you'll have 2 more E hardpoints on arms on top of that. Also, have you tried dual UAC10s?... THAT's the true terror.

Well - as i wrote in the german section:

Every one understands : PGI wants to make Money.

BUT BEFORE NEW MECHS:

GIVE US MORE CONTENT!
MORE MAPS
they've given us roughly a map a month all year. That seems reasonable!

Quote

MORE GAME MODES (Solaris has been mentioned many many times)

Russ has said he'd like to add more game modes, but the game can't support more while we have hard game mode selection ability. If we went back to the vote system, we could have more game modes. . As it stands, though, people picking which game modes they won't play at all is a hard hit on a straining matchmaker.

Quote

MAKE CW INTERESTING / TACTICAL (its allways about rushing...)
They're working on it. Look back at the past patch notes since Co's release: there are near constant changes to CW happening for specifically that reason.

Quote

MAKE GAME MODE FOR SOLOPLAYERS (not a Story but a Kind of tournament mode for the ones who want to fight 1:1)
Already exists : private matches.

Quote

Maybe this is just my opinion but : make the game more like an Simulator than an egoshooter...
Too vague to comment.

Basically, they are doing all these things, but it takes time. They're a small team, so they can't do everything at once.

If you scroll through the specs, you'll see the max engine size doesn't always match the stock size. Also, Russ did mention they will be customizable like IS battlemechs, exactly. With clan tech.

Some time ago, I would buy them all hands down. Now, I am older and wiser.
Maybe will take Jenners. Maybe...

Want written guarantee from PGI that those mechs will not be nerfed in first 6 months after the release.
(yea right)

Why? If they are over-performing they should be nerfed. I don't get why people think that paying for the mechs means they should be OP. You're paying for early access, and the chance to ride, and test these babies out, before the rest do. Plus all of the content goodies, and extra bonuses.

HBK IIC. Lose two JJs for more armour. Swap the UACs for Gauss and ammo. Strip the armour off the arms. 2 Gauss, max armour on everything but arms, 6.5 tons of ammo, 2 JJs. Great little pop tart!

Jenner IIC with all those missile hard points... boat streaks for anti light duty!
