Though with somewhat few hardpoints. Still, that IS a crapload of guns. This is why I'm concerned: As the IS HGN lacks significant quirks, while Clan ballistics are horrible (gauss excepted, obviously) and there's not a LOT of hardpoints, and ghost heat limits large energy to 2...

Light missiles and other weapons allow the Clan HGN IIC to mount at best... 4E, 2M 1B or 2E 3M 2B(same side torso, so space limits)

With 44t of guns... Say, 2 LPL, 2 ERML in the arms for 14t. 2xALRM15 for 9t, + say 5t ammo for 14; a total of 28. Add a Gauss rifle and 4t ammo for another 16 and that's 44t.

2LPL, 2ERML, 2ALRM15, Gauss? That's a pretty hefty loadout, and a decided pug stomper. Just rough thinking, mind you - would probably want to trim some to get better cooling, maybe just lose the ERML's for heat concerns.

Or, on the later build, 2xLBX5 (no explosive ST, pretty high DPS output despite yucky lbx characteristics) or LBX20, 2 LPL, ASRM6's or more LRM's.

GasGuzzler's 3 LPL + Gauss build would work pretty well, and have 53% heat efficiency in Smurfy's.

Hmmm, I like the Jenner IIC, but I would rather like to see the marauder line come in somewhere, IS or IIC... Also would have loved the Phoenix Hawk IIC (even at the 80 tons)... I would say Rifleman IIC, but that'd just be wrong... Clans with that kind of platform would be OP...

Battlemechs, Koniving. Not omnimechs.

Took note in a later post that they were Battlemechs instead of Omnimechs.
Still I wouldn't be surprised if they still had certain rules.

Good thing you can upgrade the engine to a 325 and go 64 kph in the HGN-IIC, with Clan Weapons. I bet you can probably squeeze a Gauss and 3 cLPLs, with enough DHS to be viable..

Indeed. Still glad my HM goes slightly faster (330 engine for the win!).
It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Side note: Locked hardpoints Clanners! HA ha ha!

I would be surprised if they worked any differently than IS battlemechs.

However, that aside, it's clear the engines are swappable, and that they use clan weapons - both are obvious by the store page.

As well, Russ said on the townhall they were customizable as per IS battlemechs.

Because many of them are based on the pack level, a-la carte bypasses that. I think they should get plenty of the bonuses, myself.

I think that all mech preorder packs should work like Founders where you get to pick-and-chose your mechs for whatever package tier you get. For example, buy a Tier-3 package and you get to pick any 3 of the mechs, for example do the Jenner + Highlander + Orion, or Highlander + Orion + Hunchie, or any other combination...

I never really liked the system where each package tier's mech is pre-defined (i.e. the lowest tier is always a light, tier 2 is always light + medium, etc.).

I went to make one, kept having issues with fitting things (it started out with 20 weapons), but figured a pure energyboat Atlas would be frowned on... Fitting those ultras took a lot of space. :( Now counting the AMS it only has 14. But close enough for now.

I would go: x2 C-LB10s x2 C-MPLs

PGI has NOT clarified whether the IICs are actually using Clan XLs or just regular XLs. Even if IICs are Clan mechs, you need to remember that they are just reworked Star League era Battlemechs. For balancing purposes, PGI may give them IS XLs.

They might be "reworked" but the clans have had centuries to refit them with clan XL engines ... it wouldn't make much sense to me if they used IS XL engines.

Also, according to sarna ... the clans took the designs and redesigned them around clan tech ... these are not rebuilt star league era mechs ... these are newly built clan redesigns ... the production year for the Jenner IIC for example is 3042. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Jenner_IIC ... so they use clan weapons and clan XL engines.

Yeah, the 2xCUAC20 IIC build is awful. People will just run 2xLBX20 (still bad) or 2xGauss (Very good; subjectively better than a Grid Iron, if slower and less resilient)

Take my money... again!! :D

its clan tech its the only way they can mount all those weapons dose seem the engine will be changeable fero and endo isn't to clear would assume XLs will be like IS XLs or everyone will take them and the IIcs will be the only thing cleaners use.

I think everyone is missing the most important point about these new IIC mechs. If these redesigns are put into the game that means we could end up with............. URBANMECH IIC.

not intirley Shaw but clan engines are built in so they use space more efficiently but the tradeoff is they are not easy to remove so since these engines seem to be removable they probably use more space making them more like IS engines, or at lest i hope that is the case.

Why is XSOLLA acting as the middle man for a pay pal purchase now. Have been trying to purchase this pack for 15 minutes whereas before when it went directly to PayPal it was instant. Oh well, I probably won't buy anything else from PGI until they figure out how to make PayPal work.
