com·mu·ni·ty
/kəˈmyo͞onədē/
noun
noun: community; plural noun: communities
1.
a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.
In this case, we all have MW:O as our common characteristic, but only the upper tiered super competitive units are really desired in CW, or are they? the rewards for them are equally turdtastic... PGI, please take IGP's mentality and lose it, you started your solo MW:O endeavors quite well in reversing folks thoughts about you guys, but lately, you just seem to have gone back to their money grubbing BS that no one but you guys (PGI) want.

Also this event is heavy dependant on ppl in unit bcuz points per person means more ppl=more points so even if it is unit of total noobs who do not win even one match but have 500 ppl willing to drop and lose each game where half of them do 80 match score points(which is not hard) can still win event...yea thats what I call competition.Lose even if you win...not like that 250k c-bills is worth of...or that hula girl(rly again?).
i like grind event but this one is just grindfest w/o reason to grind it....like mech or even a few mil c-bills but 250k and some crappy MC items? #notworth my time.If I play this it will be just for fun with my unit.

No, this event is an auto win for -MS-
Why people talk only about MS?
Its same for all bigs others units ... like TCAF, SroT, CI, MS SWOL, 228 this event is hardcore not cause it will be hard or skills required but only hardcore cause it show us how PGI don't understand their own game and community
But instead discuss about this we should all buy new mechs package for encourage them ( again ) to keep this way.

Well whatever. I guess I don't need a personal reward. I'll just do my best anyway.

1. "Hardcore" does not have to mean "biggest".
This event appears to be tailored for the benefit of a small number of super-units like 228, -MS-, SWOL, etc., and it provides no meaningful incentive for small or even medium-sized units. This encourages players to join one of the existing super-units, which will only serve to reduce unit diversity. Scoring and/or rewards should be inversely proportional to the size of the unit, otherwise you're just promoting the 'bigger is better' ethos above all else.
If the MWO player population was substantially larger then it might be feasible to run niche events aimed at particular subgroups of the community. I sincerely hope that such growth happens, and I have no problem with events focused on CW or Units, but I believe they should be organised in a way which is more inclusive. Niche events could be a fun addition in the future, but for now I would prefer to see more events aimed at the general community (especially if you're trying to encourage CW participation). Judging from the other comments in this thread, I think many of us feel excluded from this event due to the way it has been structured.
2. Rewards should be meaningful
The Planetary Conquest rewards are novel and interesting, but the rest are trivial. The sole Personal Challenge reward is especially underwhelming: many players already have that item since it was already used as a reward in the recent Summer Heat and Phoenix Rising events (I have two of them); furthermore, cockpit items tend to be viewed as having negative practical value (i.e. visual distraction/obstruction) and very few players ever use them. Free stuff is great, but variety is the spice of life. I would have liked to have seen a more substantial tiered set of Personal Challenge rewards to encourage participation, rather than this token gesture. The derth of Personal Challenge rewards makes this event all about the super-units.
Where decorative items are offered as prizes, it would be great if such items were either unique to the event (along the lines of the Operation 24 medallion or the customized dog tags offered for this event), or for there to be a choice between a number of regular items, e.g. "one 'mech statue of your choice", to help players avoid items they dislike or already own.
3. Events like this will not increase long-term participation in Community Warfare
This event will likely see a temporary surge of participation from the super-units competing with each other, but that will die off as soon as the event ends. If anything, overall CW participation may fall to even lower levels if more solo and small-unit players feel put-off by the hostile environment which this event is liable to exacerbate. What CW really needs in order to grow is novel gameplay, and in that regard I'm certainly looking forward to Phase 3 and beyond.
In my view, CW is currently stagnant because of the shallow strategy/gameplay including the lack of galaxy map-level objectives and rewards (other than the player-created planet tagging and race-to-Terra goals which are only rewarded with bragging rights), and because it's dominated by a handful of super-units (and merc units wield an undue level of influence). Many players prefer to stick with Skirmish/Assault/Conquest matches because they are more rewarding for the time invested; CW simply does not yet offer enough to be enticing. Once CW incorporates some novel and rewarding gameplay I hope the participation levels will increase to the point where the queue times become acceptable, and ideally I would love to see it grow to the point where it's feasible to introduce an ELO matchmaker in order to stop the elite highly-organised 12-man groups from farming the inexperienced.
This event is rather a let-down, so instead I'm going to stay focused on more positive things like the 2nd half of the Wave 3 release (I want my Arctic Cheetah now!) and the coming hitreg improvements mentioned in the latest Town Hall, which I hope will make a noticeable difference to players like myself (based in New Zealand with a typical ping ~252).

AND PLEASE GO BACK TO WHAT YOU HAD INTENDED stop the IS / Clan hopping tie people down to one or other.
Seeing MS holding planets under 2 or 3 different factions is a joke "The Clan leader" would not have taken them back after attacking them and i am pretty sure IS leaders would have been the same .. Heck make them Pirates I don't know it is just stupidity(or at least strip them of their planets when the break contract).
I want the CW stuff to be fun for all people but they way I see it is that it is the play ground of Mega units to play noob bash or pick on smaller units because lets face it a group that plays together all the time on their won easy to to hear TS has a big advantage.

I agree that they need to do simpler events like double 3 bill weekends for cw. That would definitely raise interest in CW. However big events like this are good, but this is a failure to be both a small and big event.
this
a simple double rainbow would be better than this

KCOM is a small unit and they're doing ok, but in general this isn't set up for small units to be competitive. I think it is providing some interesting information about factions and unit participation though,
