I used the Razer Adder before it and it just had too many small buttons for me.
I find the proteus core extremely comfortable, there are just enough buttons - and more importantly they are very well placed.
As you can see in the image, instead of a confusing blob of tiny buttons you have a few well placed, good sized buttons all of which have a great tactile feel and most are easy to find/click in the heat of combat.
One of the biggest selling points for me is the button placed right next to Mouse Button 1 (Left button) - it is long, and slender and runs parallel to LMB 1.
The huge benefit of that, is that it is extremely easy and natural to fire two weapon groups at the same time, with just my index finger using those two buttons.
The software is easy to use, and very easy to remap buttons/save profiles, etc.
I currently run MWO at sensitivity 0.1, with my DPI set to 5000 for movement/torso twisting and press+hold DPI shift drops me down to 1200 - but you can customize that down to 400 or as high as 12,000.
Pros:
> Braided cord
> Ability to adjust weight
> Excellent button placement
> Fully remappable
> Infinite Scrolling Mouse Wheel (toggle on/off) - this isn't so useful for gaming but great for other uses
> Not wireless?
Last I checked it's only $60 (new) on Amazon and $40 refurbished.
