SRMs and medium lasers need to be fixed before rescaling, that would fix the entire medium weightgroup instead of 1-2 mechs. SRM spread is 30% too wide and medlaser beam duration is 25% too long. Back in the day 10 tons of those weapons was a fearful sight on any medium mech.....nowadays it hits like a wet noodle. I gag every time I see people boating pulse lasers cmon man.

Ever since they broke SRMs there has never been reward for getting up in someones face. League games are 90% snipefests the last 3 years. Back in closed beta the last time this game was fun and it was a mad brawl because short range knife fighting was the only way.

Are we supposed to be able to pick multiple mechs? Or should we just pick 1?

Almost every single Medium needs to be rescaled to a smaller stature. Most the time the only thing separating a Medium from a Heavy is the weapons loadout and speed. Most people I see play Mediums the same way they play Heavies, not that they really have much choice when they're the same size and get targeted amidst a group of mechs just as much as Heavies do because they look no different.

The game in it's current state plays like this:
Light - Tiny machine with one variant with a good loadout + lagshield and usually 130 - 160 kph.
Medium - a faster Heavy. Speed usually at 80 - 100 kph.
Heavy - a good platform with most variants having great loadouts. Speed usually at 70 - 90 kph.
Assault - a slower Heavy. Speed usually at 60 - 80 kph.

Because of speed tweak and the meta, people mostly swap out engines for bigger ones to run at the speeds listed above, forcing the speed gap between each weight class into only ~10 kph. That's why the Heavy queue is always at ~40%. Most Assault loadouts can pretty much be copied minus one weapon into a good Heavy that moves quicker at the same size, and Medium mechs don't move fast enough in comparison to a Heavy at the same size to be useful.

how is the cicada a tad over sized? it's the same height as some light mechs...

Due to it's shape and length of it's legs, Cicadas can see a slight reduction to look lighter, less boxy. Using the Jenner, since both have easy to hit CTs, here's apic of mine side by side.
Spoiler

So it doesn't need much, but it can be a bit thinner in comparison and still keep it's taller height over the Jenner.

Also how should the blackjack be thinner? I think it looks fine atm..

It wouldn't need that much. The original description talks of how thin the legs are, so I'd simply see its legs be thinner from the front.

Tie between the gigantic Centurion and Nova, followed by the Griffin (I know it's skinny, but it's so tall!).

Trebuchet was the first major mech-scale uproar within the community ages ago.

It's a huge surprise it's not the highest voted out of all the classes from the community??

I suppose map scaling will be taken into account later on.

Trebs and Centurions are just too flippin' tall (the Cents a;so are just wide!) - I'd be agreeable to make Hunchbacks and Cicadas a little shorter.

Wait, wait, wait. You guys really think the Shadowhawk needs a rescaling more than a Trebuchet? Because judging by the votes you do.

It'd be simpler to have the pole select which mediums /don't/ need a rescale.

The shadowhawk should no way be higher in this poll than a Trebuchet. It's clear that this vote is not objective and is leaning towards people wanting the mechs they already play to be improved rather than the mechs they don't (Vindicator, anyone?) improving to usefulness. That's a shame.

No love for the Vindicator, 45tonner larger than the Hunchback?
.
.
I blame the Clans! Everything is the fault of Clans!
I really doubt the Black Hawk is THE mech that needs rescale the most. It's simply the only out-of-scale Clan medium mech and all the Clanners are voting for it.

The Shadowhawk was one of the best Mechs in the past !

But now, you dont see a single one.

One reason is, that it dont get any quirks and therefore is completely underpowered.
The other reason is, this it dies from a single shot of these 2xGauss +2xER-PPC Daishis from 800m distance.
And that is a lot of fun for players...

Maybe a shrink could help a little bit.

While Treb and Quickdraw do need rescales, the Treb is skinny compared to the Centurion...

But honestly, on the left is MWO's Centurion. On the right is the same Centurion rescaled to match the limb and body thickness of the concept art.

If anyone voting or has voted happens to read this: If you have yet to vote for the Trebuchet, please consider voting it as well; it's rarer than even Awesomes, and that's saying something. I have only seen it maybe 2-3 times out of all the games I have played since stat archiving.

Remember, you can vote multiple 'Mechs!

Medium mechs suffers from inappropriate scales the most. There is a huuuge leap between tiny lights and suddenly bulky mediums. And the fact, that has been mentioned many times - mediums are but a speedy heavies. I think, this is the major reason, medium population online is the shortest.

And among all the other suffering mediums, Nova is criminally oversized.
