I can't be bothered to read 11 pages of Urbie debate <G>, so forgive me if this comment is redundant, but it seems to me that one of the old taglines for Battletech is that a mech can only be challenged by another mech on the battlefield. Now clearly there are loads of non-mech vehicles that can easily smoke an Urbie, but I think the idea is that mechs have such a reputation, that even an urbie can keep the peace in places where other mechs are scarce. So now it's starting to make sense. Urbies aren't meant to fight other mech. They are the mechs that get deployed on the valuable backworlds with political resistance. This only strengthens the case for leaving them out of the game, because, as a pilot of a proper mech, you know you're on the wrong planet if an urbie is on duty there.

I am all for putting any mechs in the game that the devs have time for, but it's no surprise that this might be last on the list.

no most lights are a bit faster then a urbanmech, and by a bit i mean alot, speed = life in a light mech

as fun as the urbanmech was, i hope they add it to the game, and leave the cockpit at base gun level for my marauder so i can shoot and continue moving on to another topic. I will give the urbanmech one thing, i resembled a trashcan i used to own back in the college....

He's clearly a UM-R50 with that torso mounted ballistic weapon and no arms. Just goes to show that even that experimental design can be quite viable for point defence.
