So many really want the UrbanMech...Why??? Truly useful only in urban environs, too slow and vulnerable otherwise in my opinion.

Notice the number of people begging for an Urbie, and the number of people that think my little pony is cool. Its human stupidity my friend, and it is almost as common as elemental hydrogen in the universe.

"The two most common things in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity." Harlan Ellison

1. Be a game dev.
2. See Urbie craziness in forum.
3. ...
4. Make money.

;)

need to add a line or 2...

...Add urbie to Founders Package...
...Russ, Paul and the Rest Swims in Money!..

im surprised Girls just dont fall into Russ, or Pauls Lap, with that Money Aftershave that they use

I think I would call my Urbie, R2D2 ! and they should add R2D2 beeping and whistling sound effects when the Mech moves around or gets hit, like when R2 gets ambushed by the Jawas, but in MWO it wont be Jawas... it will be like an Atlas stopping it into the ground lol

Sir, i like 40k a lot too, but this is so wrong...
Sergeant Mkoll instead would beat 5 elementals before breakfast... just to keep in training. ;)

Yeah from far away maybe and certainly not within knife range. Whereas Mr. Space Marine could take his toothpick (aka combat knife the size of a short sword) and dice them all before they hit the floor. *exaggeration for effect*

...and then you realize that the 30-ton 'Mech in front of you just headcapped someone with a Gauss rifle.

Sure, they're slow...but good grief do they pack a punch and likely would have a nice, squat target profile. And you know some wise guy would strap a bigger engine in just to troll people in a 30-ton 'Mech running near 200kph.

Btw, dont take that lover thing too seriously, we love Urbie but dont love it the way you think we do...

Urbie haters are against mechamalgmation. And they don't realize that one forms the core of every Jagermech anyway, so it's already too late.

And in the news today:

Steiner occupation forces lost two lances of urbanmechs when rioters took to the roofs and started throwing bricks......

@Wildcat

There was this interview which may answer your questions. Check out the body language. The lady is doing her level best to catch their attention, which I found rather cute. Not that I could possibly relate LOL

Forgive me, I've never understood the fascination with urbanmech's. Why intentionally make a light mech that slow.

Because the lack of speed is, supposedly, offset by increases in armour and firepower.

Lets be honest here - The thing is ugly!!! He looks like a messed up R2D2! bleh!!!

shhh... dont let people in on the secret.. so after the star wars movies r2 did a few years on the con circuit and then starting seeing the fans drift away. So he dabbled in a bit of robot growth hormone. A few years later he makes his comeback as.... you guessed it... the Urbanmech. So much attitude in such a humble package.

They must be GODS, look at their size compared to her!!... I watch EP on TV from time to time and they mostly advertize Junk, but having MWO on their show must have raised Ratings for that Day im sure !

I hope they put it in the game, you've always gotta have the most low tier option available for the giggles. Besides it gives the more sensible people something to shoot at without worry.

The Urbanmech was designed to go up against infantry in a close quarters enviroment, it's really for anti-riot duties. They are also legendary in poor build quality, having the pilots die mostly due to the command console detaching and crushing the pilot in his/her seat if the mech fell over...
