I will tell you think, My Ubrie and his AC/20 don't like your face....

Yeah and a Hunchback has one of those, and more!

But who cares about that one weapon when an Atlas can curb-stomp that little beer can into the ground.

The Stork brings them ALLL the way from Orguss Industries so that we may love and cherish them and someday crush our enemies.

White Scars????

Space Wolves baby. The sons of Leman Russ. The closest we got in BT are the Ghost Bears and FRR (sharing the nordic heritage).

Imp created Urbie. Mega Gargant (aka Stompa) created the Imp.

Lo' and behold, brothers and sisters.

Forgive me, I've never understood the fascination with urbanmech's. Why intentionally make a light mech that slow. Any pilot can simple slow down their mech in the tight quarters of the city and accomplish the same thing, but retain the flexibility of the speed when needed. I welcome anyone to enlighten me on what it is about these mechs that I'm missing, but I have always thought of them as nothing more that target practice or minor annoyances at best.

it's cheap.

Urbie evolves into Rifleman evolves into Jagermech

since the Jagermech was created as a replacement for the Rifleman.

I know its not what will happen but I think it would be funny if the urbanmech was THE starting mech everyone had to start with unless you bought founders mechs.

And THERE we have a nice modded Urbanmech in action.

-Autocannon: Check
-Heavy Flamer: Check
-Short Stumpy Legs: Check
-Piloted by an elite mechwarrior: Check

I want it.

ANY mech in the right hands are deadly.

Mech Sucks = Someone WILL underestimate the mech and pilot and get their *** handed to them.

Ok, we might not assume that MWO is anything like MW4:M but if the fittings is anywhere similar you can get that little dustbin up to about 70km/h and mount 4 medium lasers and an AC5 with plenty of ammo.

And if torso turning speed and radius is similar then we can look at a mech with 180 degree torso twist.

-Mainly used vs armor and infantry
-Short mech, easier to hide and ambush with
-Cheap, mass produced plenty of cannon fo...recruits to pilot it.
-Can most likely be retooled in the mechbay to gain speed, armor and other fun stuff to annoy everyone else with.

It is a mech that fits the battletech universe but I agree that it is not the OPTIMAL mech to use in Mech vs Mech combat but neither is that the mech's primary role as stated above.

Still, no mech should ever be underestimated.

I hope they add massive Player VS NPC scenarios where we can be 24 players vs an entire army/city with fixed defences, vehicles and tanks and aircrafts wit a huge battlemap.

Yeah, but I was going in terms of size as far as evolution is concerned.

So many really want the UrbanMech...Why??? Truly useful only in urban environs, too slow and vulnerable otherwise in my opinion.

alone its useless in a non urban enviroment but if your facing 3 of em in a non urban enviroment depending upon distance at least one will get into firing range to use its ac20 but an urbie can equip a gauss rifle instead and thats a whole different ball game odds are R2FU is gonna be taking potshots at your shins before you even know where hes firing from.

One argument for the urbanmech: few light mechs carry ACs. Given the hardpoint system, and given the desire to differentiate mechs in some way other than appearance, it would benefit MWO to include the urbanmech to allow of for ballistic capable light mechs.
