things like this should not happen inside a single series, its so stupid. Why can the mechs from one company used in a previous mechwarrior games not be used in a following mechwarrior game by a different company?

MECHWARRIOR = MECHWARRIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not an issue of being within the Battletech franchise. The designs were originally "borrowed" from a bunch of Anime who have no ties to Battletech. Those people have said they have to stop using them.

I believe you are incorrect sir. Did they not just release the Rifleman?

No they released the Jaegermech

IGP can probably redesign them, and make them look a hell of a lot better, especially than that reseen garbage. They've pretty much tweaked all of the mechs from their original designs, some not so much, others greatly. Last time I checked the Centurion was an ugly ****, and now it looks cool as hell. So I'd fully expect to see all the unseen redesigned to look better (possibly under new names) Before IGP's makeover Posted Image After IGP's makeover Posted Image

Well to be fair you used the ugly 3050 image. The 3025 tech readout had a better picture. It wasn't ugly, but it certainly wasn't as cool as the MWO incarnation.

If they use the Hammerhands HMH-3D design, drop the JJ's & SRM 6 add a PPC for the Hammerhands HMH-4D.

what franchise was it from? i thought it was all the same.

Most of it was from Macross Saga, but I believe a few (Battlemaster) were from a variety of other sources

From the MWO FAQ:
Q. Will the unseen Mechs make it into the game after all?

A. Look forward to a future announcement.

The rights to the unseen mechs still remain the same. Those of you who don't know what the unseen mechs are, here's the list of the mechs that will NOT be appearing in mechwarrior online:

Archer
BattleMaster
Crusader
Galleon
Goliath
Leopard
Locust
Locust IIC
Longbow
Marauder
Marauder II
Ostscout
Ostsol
Phoenix Hawk
Phoenix Hawk LAM
Rifleman
Samurai
Scorpion
Shadow Hawk
Sparrowhawk
Stinger
Stinger LAM
Super Wasp
Thunderbolt
Valkyrie
Warhammer
Wasp
Wasp LAM
Wolverine

This list was attained from sarna. Thank you and have a great day.
just going to say this... If there was a chance that we would never get any of these mech, the DEVS would have by now just said so. Also, EVERY MECH to date that has been released for this game has had a redesign. Some are minor like the Atlas and Catapult but others like the BAD *** looking Stalker to the even more BAD *** looking Catachract to the all new looking Jagermech. The concept artist they have redesigning all these mech has done a great job so far and he can and probably will do the same for any of the so called Unseens. As long as they don't take on a 100% likeness of those copy written mech designs, there is no problem. Besides... Every one of them has already been redesigned under the Phoenix Project, and all those mech from there is what they can and probably would take from to then redesign for this game. In fact, I'll bet on it!

We all knew (or should have) that unaltered, original versions were going to be a legal issue. What most of us have clamored for are updated versions (like they did for Project Phoenix... just we want better ones). Like THESE
MARAUDER
Posted Image
WARHAMMER
Posted Image
RIFLEMAN
Posted Image
CRUSADER
Posted Image
WOLVERINE

etc, etc, etc. Obviously tarted up in MWO's industrial style. Or someone else's versions, whatever. Then there IS no legal issue. I think a fan petition or vote should be allowed for, so that we see that the fans and players are truly served. Many of on here weren't intorduced to Battletech by MW4.

Why pleasing long times fans by doing that should be such a problem, I don't get.

Total agreement. Well put, though I do like my Stalker design better, the one they came up with is very cool. (we're gamers... we usually have ego problems, right?)

I do really dig the Centurion re-design, though I would like the cannon to look more like a traditional ballistic weapon, a hand that looked less fragile, and slightly beefier lower legs. Still, minor stuff and far improved from any TRO version. I give it an A-.

the artist of technical readout 3025 and 3026 is the best artist of mechs/vehicles imo.

i think his name is Loose.

They should just make a $100: Marauder, Warhammer, Battlemaster, Rifleman, Phoenixhawk, and Wolverine premium mech pack. Then just pay HG a reasonable percentage of the profits. Myself and more than half the people on here would be beating PGI's doors down to pay for those mechs. That's probably a lot easier said than done though...

Id have to disagree with you there. While some of their art is good for some cartoons... I don't always like the over anime look for everything. I do on the other hand love the rugged look and hard defined modern militaristic look that we are getting with the new MWO mech. The designs are futuristic enough but still look not to far off from what I would expect mech to look like if we had the ability to build them for real in this day and age.
