Fun little mech. It also works with 6spl and an ecm, but I like the extra dmg with 7. Here is the build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fc8739fd46cfca5

Looking forward to taking it for another spin tonight but it seems like an excellent Clan light, finally!

I take it as a sign that PGI gave up on the **** lynx. That thing is seriously one of the most useless mechs in the game. The Ferret isn't much better. Wave 2 buyers got screwed... You know you've got bad mechs when the Gladbag is the 2nd best mech in the pack.
As for 7xSPL, I can't image running that when I have trouble with 6x. DPS seems just about right with 5x, and plays similar to a cross of a FS9-A with SPLs and FS9-S with MPLs. It's a great mech either way, and should please all clan players who are tired of slow lights.
My personal favorite seems to be shaping up to be the 2xERML, 4xERSL, ECM, 3xDHS build. Those 2xERML work great as pokers, while the ERSL are used when DPS is needed.

The thing about 7 is the quirks. When you use the correct omnipods you get spl heat gen about the same as the FS9-A. The clan spl hit harder than inner sphere too. This thing ends up having an alpha equivalent to the mpl Thunderbolt.

That's a really good point. I think I might try 6xSPL out and drop that ECM omnipod so I can go with an extra DHS and the quirked omnipod. I hate losing my ECM crutch, but these little guys are death dealers. 36 damage alphas will only make them more crazy.
I'm still against 7xSPL however... That cuts down too much on potential DPS.

1x basics is a 35% heat alpha; easily within reason (as opposed to 50% from 5 ERMLs)

I could've told you this, but the powercreep is real.
If I'm bored, I will post what I think about the Arctic Cheetah.
Hint: All your Clan Lights (minus the Arctic Cheetah) are obsolete.

Smurfy says with elites, both the 7xSPL and 6xSPL+TC1+ECM have the same DPS. You get an extra -5% heat gen with the C-LT. You're sacrificing range, the crit bonus, and the ECM for the bigger payload. If you ditch the TC1 for another heat sink the 6xSPL goes to 5.16 DPS.
5xSPL+TC1 gets you up to 5.1 DPS with the range bonus. Ditching the TC1 for another heat sink gets you to 5.4 but you lose the range advantage. If you fire 5xSPL on the 7 build you still generate a bit less heat per volley than the TC build. At that point you're only sacrificing ecm, range, and the crit bonus.
Over 2 volleys you're talking about 84 vs 72 vs 60 damage. 5xSPL is probably the worst because it requires that much more face time. Take the 7 build and then limit your volley to 5xSPL if you're running too hot in an engagement.

Did you pay the opposing team to walk towards your team one by one?

Yeah but...why not just do the same thing in the FS9-S? Same damage, speed, and heat, more armor and range.
