That's actually $200 if you go for the reinforcement mechs there. Maybe if they dropped the price a bit for a collection like that. Say only $15 a tier. That would make the ultimate cost only $150. Not a huge difference mind you, but enough of a difference for some people.

That's a 25% difference, and that is huge. I'd say leave it at $20. The original Clan Wave I was $240 for all 8 mechs. This would be $200 for 10 mechs . . . which isn't bad at all, especially with all the goodies that could be added (skins, colors, premium time, warhorns, etc.).

It's a bit late, but i threw this together.
I really do feel, that the biggest problem with the current battlemaster is its cockpit.
I love most of Alex's redesigns, but i'm very disappointed that he cut-out the most iconic feature of the Battlemaster.

Very disappointed.

The thing I dislike most art wise about the current one in game has to be it's huge humped back. Something that Alex's concept art didn't really convey before it's release. Gameplay wise it would have to be the restrictive torso twisting on a couple variants.

I don't get the reinforcements due to the fact that they do not have bonuses and the fact well... thinking about it, it depends what are those mechs in the reinforcements...

I would find it cool if it was only 10 dollars per pack and this was a kind of celebration kinda thing with bonuses tying to previous packs if you got them.

Why make it that cheap? Well... imagine it, 8 to 10 unseen mechs, sweat deal, more deals, lots of mechs nad skins and such... etc... it would be very hard to resist....

well this is just me trying to make it less then 20 dollars but 15 can do...

You know, thinking about people's desires to see the MWO Project Phoenix mechs brought back to more unseen looks . . . I wonder, if everything works out and they do an "unseen" package, if they'd consider making special "Unseen" variants that have special geometry slapped on them to make the Project Phoenix mechs appear more like their unseen brethren. It'd almost be like the special geometry for the loyalty mechs, only we'd get special geometry for the Project Phoenix mechs. A more rounded off Locust, the "bubble cockpit" for the Battlemaster, etc.

There's 10 popular unseen IS mechs in all: Wasp, Stinger, Valkyrie, Phoenix Hawk, Rifleman, Crusader, Archer, Warhammer, Marauder, and Longbow. That's just a bit too much for a Clan Wave I package system, but we could certainly cover that with some reinforcements mechs available to any tier owner, just like the Phoenix package.

Now, for the package, you can do something like this:

Succession Wars Undying Warriors Package . . . (U) Mechs

-"Undying"/"Unseen" special geometry variant rewards of Project Phoenix mechs offered with select packages.
-Mech Placement is strictly hypothetical . . . please don't nit-pick them . . . I know everyone would want their personal favorites as easily accessed as possible.

List the chassis in tiers not unlike the Wave 1 Clan Mechs
Tier 1: Wasp (20t)
Tier 2: Phoenix Hawk (45t)
Tier 3: Archer (70t) - Locust "Unseen" (U) variant reward.
Tier 4: Marauder (75t) - Shadow Hawk "Unseen" (U) variant reward.
Tier 5: Valkyrie (30t) - Griffon "Unseen" (U) variant reward.
Tier 6: Rifleman (60t) - Wolverine "Unseen" (U) variant reward.
Tier 7: Warhammer (70t) - Thunderbolt "Unseen" (U) variant reward.
Tier 8: Longbow (85t) - Battlemaster "Unseen" (U) variant reward.

Reinforcements available with purchase of any tier of package
Tier 1: Stinger (20t)
Tier 2: Crusader (65t)

Price . . . $20 per tier, just like any other standard Battlemech (non Omni) pack.

Even if they don't do any special variants for the old Project Phoenix mechs, that'd still make a great package model for an "Unseen" mech pack.

My personal opinion/thoughts: I think the Project Phoenix mechs look awesome as is. I also think some of the mechs (like the Thunderbolt) would have a very difficult time getting special geometry that makes them appear more like their unseen brethren. I don't see it as being very doable, but I also don't see it as being utterly impossible. I had the thought of doing a mock-up package, so I went for it.

EDIT: Removed the "Option 1" from the package system, as I was originally trying to conceive multiple ways of assembling the package, but decided to can that as everyone would nit-pick mech placement to have their favorites the most easily accessible.

This would be amazing. But I hope they dont add this without an announcement of some serious none mech content. Like off the leash massive content additions. Its not an ultimatum, its to show there are plans to make Mechwarrior Online a complete game, more than a bad start screen, mechbay UI and battlefield. (Seen the Dragon Age start screen? Not my kind of game but thats a start screen, not what Mechwarrior has now. :))

Also, as much as I and likely many others want these mechs asap, they probly shouldnt make these fully for sale until Mechwarrior Online has put some effort into advertising or Steam launch or what ever. Because these mechs just may sell well. :) Nothing to do with the current players but more for the bottom line of Mechwarrior Online and its ability to produce quality content. Its no secret this game has been on the down low while under construction, not even trying to grow the player base.

The lag on these forums is just to much. Completely different quotes now even? fixed*

Surely it remains too dangerous from a legal perspective - a few lead miniatures is one thing but a software company is much more visible and at risk to legal action. I love the designs but I'd rather the game stays afloat

Considering Harmony Gold just did their own Robotech miniatures game? [of which many battletech fans were buying the mini's just so they could have the unseen.]

Trust me, the miniature market isn't any different than the digital market when it comes to battletech.

never got any of the BMs as it did not resemble the BMs of BT. I liked the round cockpits , same with the Wolverine. Did not get any.

As a side note, if the mechs were offered in a pack i would get them, if only for nostalgia, the Warhammer is pretty rubbish with the low weapon mounts and likely the PPC mounts would be short stubs.

Unfortunately a dual dismissal means just that. Both parties just sat down, decided to drop the subject, and never bring that specific situation back up (doesn't mean that they couldn't sue if Hasbro decided to suddenly go back to using the old Jetfire Valkyrie molds, where were HG properties, and not their current modified version).

It was apparently dismissed with prejudice, which in that case means HG actually can't sue Hasbro over the same thing again.

I know what you mean, about the humped backs.
The Thunderbolts, oh man, they have these GINORMOUS, what i could only describe as, jump jet packs, that basically DOUBLE their torso's side profile.
Which would be fine, i guess, if ALL of the Thunderbolts had JJs, which is not the case.
Just because ONE of the TDR variants have Jump Jets, ALL of them have these giant backpacks, which look really bad, in my opinion.

Not sure what you mean by that.
Wolverines are pretty close to what they looked like as Unseens.
The biggest difference is that it isn't carrying a Suitcase, hahaha (and also the little round turret, which was replaced by a weird looking laser mount, which yeah, could've been better)

1. You do realize that the reinforcement mechs do come with special variants that have the same bonuses as any other special variants, right? The Griffon and Wolverine Phoenix mechs had them, the Vulture has it. If you're referring to

2. You really can't go below $20 a mech. You just can't do it. That's already a steal. With everything that PGI adds into these mech packs they're already practically giving you the mechs for free with the value of everything else you get (mech bays, premium time, cockpit items, colors, skins, etc.). In fact I think the total value of an early-bird Clan Wave 1 Masakari Pack was something like ~$600 (and it's still ~$500 in value, now) when you actually tallied everything together; so you got double your money's worth. I know we all want to be able to afford all the mechs, but PGI doesn't make MWO out of charity . . . they've got employees to pay and servers to run.

First off, the thread doesn't actively update edits, so if you were staring at the page and reading your way down it slowly, then you might have missed the edit update. Anyway, on to your points . . .

For starters, Dragon Age is a single player game, and MWO is a MMO (not MMORPG, like WoW, but still an MMO). Compare the login screen of MWO to Marvel Heroes, League of Legends, World of Tanks, or any other comparable game . . . they're not far apart. Most MMO games have quite basic logins because that's not really an integral facet. Hell, even Skyrim had an extremely basic startup screen, and that game is heralded as amazing. MWO has a perfectly functional start screen that instantly showcases the Battletech genre by showing off one of the most iconic mechs in Battletech history, that Atlas.

Now, as far as wanting notifications of game content . . . we've been getting boatloads of content (and discussions of content) recently, with more on the way. What more do you want?!? We've gotten (since the turn of the year):

-CW Beta Phase 2

-A large number of iterative tweaks to CW

-More CW updates to come, including (but not limited to) a 4v4 recon game mode, inclusion of unit coffers for actual use, differentiation between lone wolves, mercs, and loyalists, and greater community control over combat zones

-Concept work of more game modes has been in the works

-Concepts and desires for PVE implementations have been in planning stages which will effect potential single player, cooperative, and CW facets

-Maps just about every 6 weeks (with more coming)

-HUGE quality improvements with recent map overhauls, and every map scheduled to get an update in the future

-Completely overhauled (and quite amazing) mech lab

-New mech selection overhaul coming in just over a week (again, looks amazing)

-Spectator capabilities coming in just over a week (something that's been asked for, for quite some time, especially by all the fan and org run tournaments)

-More bug fixes then I can even count

-European Servers (with Oceanic coming within a couple of weeks, if not the turn of the month)

-Fully functioning and overhauled HSR

-Full quirk functionality

-An incoming complete rebalancing pass over every variant of every chassis based on one unified standardized system that's going to be far more encompassing than the current quirk system, and far more consistent.

So . . . with all of this stuff discussed between town halls, command chair posts, and patch notes . . . what do you want them to announce (besides apparently some over-glorified start screen) that'd be substantial to the game?

Also, as far as release dates for this theoretical package . . . presuming that it would follow up directly behind the Origins IIC Pack, that'd put the very first release of any mechs at the beginning of 2016 (at the absolute earliest), so they've got lots of time to decide what mechs they'd be putting up next, and when/if this package would happen.

Dismissed with prejudice was a facet that they agreed to in the conclusion, which yes, does prevent HG from suing Hasbro over that particular version of Jetfire ever again. If the art/toy changes, then the concept could, theoretically, still be brought up, because at that point it's over different product and intellectual property.

However, that facet was part of their agreement in a "Stipulation for Dismissal of Action" (a set of terms for both sides dropping all legal disputes). The "mutual dismissal clause", which is a core facet of any "Stipulation for Dismissal of Action" (from my understanding) is what I had originally described in your quoted post. The "dismissed with prejudice" facet was added as part of the results for the clause. The third paragraph of that article touches on it a bit more; which it then follows up on in describing why both sides agreed to the taken actions in the second half of the article.

Maybe its on my end but I get white sreen for ages trying to update a page on this forum very often. Also tons of lag problems standard.

Second if the Mechwarrior Online start screen wasnt so ugly I would try find a picture to show of it in this reply to make my point. Its so hideous I cant bring myself to do it though.

Content? Yes I am one of the guys thats cheering Mechwarrior Online on and think its doing awsome and what content there is in game is first rate or on the way to being first rate. That doesnt change the fact that this game consists of an ugly start screen followed by, whats shaping up to be an excellent mech bay UI followed by whats shaping up to be excellent battlefields, and NOTHING else.

- No player character creation, not even the most basic kind.

- No context or intro of ANY sort. Players can log in and be saying "what is this game about, what are these machines, when is this happening, what planet is this, who am I fighting, how do I improve my character or lack there of etc etc etc etc.

- No plot, story, setting, timeline, characters, etc etc etc etc.

And the list goes on.

The point is, sales would very likely be improved if they showed that this is more than an arena shooter which from all apearances it is. Yes, the game play is much better, the Galaxy map shows that it will be more than 1 of 1000 BLUE VRS RED TDM games. But its lacking in alot of other areas to the point it may not be taken seriously enough for players to spend at all, or any more...

The point is those mechs deserve a better game than what Mechwarrior Online is at the moment.

Yes, but being a 8 tier package, the early tiers will not get much at all.
Note: the sabre reinforcement pack is 2 mechs for 30 dollars. that's 15 dollars each. Main reason = no extras.

And the reason I thought it may be cool to have lower prices is because in a way it would make people buy the higher tiers a bit more, people spend more money on these packs when they are cheaper than if they are less....

of course it was just a dream. I wounder however...

Will the longbow be able to easily do 6 LRM 15's?

And will the IIC's of these mechs come out the same time?...

[do not know what would be for light mech, maybe settle for commando IIC] Wolverine IIC? Maurader IIC? Warhammer IIC?

HECK, the moment i first saw it, i mistook it for a Zeus.

I liked the Gun it was carrying and the turret , err and yeah the Suitcase, which resembled an ammo clip , like i said, pretty unique look.

I understand it could not be fully translated into the exact copy but the current wolverine in game is not very attractive, like a smaller version of the BM

That's one reason I didn't get in on that kickstarter. I over robotech, and the minis look great, and all. But I refuse to give money to HG.

Well that, and I have a bit of a beef with Siembiada.

It's original art by Nathan Rosario from Deviant Art, and it's not a Shadow Hawk (IIC or otherwise). It's titled "Mecha Warrior".
