Ha ha , yea twitter is one way to get his attention. Good thing I never had a man card :P

Edit: so I dont know much about the lore, what mechs are on that cover? I only recognize two

Posted Image
Battlemaster in front with i believe an Ontos Heavy Tank and Pegasus Hovertank behind. Grey Death Armor featured.
Posted Image
Natasha Kerensky's WHM-6R Warhammer
with
Colin MacLaren's MAD-3R Marauder to it's left and Lynn Sheridan's GRF-1N Griffin to it's right, all from the Command Lance of the Black Widow Company of Wolf's Dragoons. The mech in the air appears to be a Shadowhawk, by general silhouette and the LRM5 in the RT and autocannon firing over the left torso. Not sure if Steiner or Davion off the top of my head, but think that is the basis of the paint job. Strum Wealh could probably tell more.

and...ninja'd. curse my need for overly detailed answers!!! :P

I suspect that the newly reseen have already been cleared by legal teams on all sides. CGL most assuredly does not want a repeat of the Project Phoenix issues, or the issues surrounding the original MWO trailer. So, for this reason, I've no doubt a great many IP lawyers have earned excitingly fast new automobiles.

Also, the licensing of the Robotech rights to Sony may be a sign of weakening resolve on the part of HG. (That, or Sony just threw a bucket load of money at them.)

Or maybe, just maybe, Big Bad Ol' Redmond is actually satisfied with what PGI is doing (revenue-wise, of course) with MechWarrior and decided to say "go for it, we got your back if HG tries to start anything. Oh, but we get to use those designs in MechWarrior franchises, capice?" :)

Catalyst will almost certainly look at licensing the designs to MS/PGI, but it will not work the other way around. CGL has categorically stated that they will never(again) use designs that they do not own outright.

Still...when can I expect my Rifleman, PGI. When? Y U NO TAKE MONEYZ NAO!

Well, since the Gun and Stalker II in the 3145 are for all intents and purposes the MWO Locust and Stalker (both also done by Alex) not sure that is 100%.

We all want the good ol' original 'hammer, but it's just not going to happen. They tried that with the 2009 reboot and it got shite-canned.

This new 'hammer will, from the looks of it, be taking inspiration from all the different versions, the original Unseen, the IIC and the Reseen in order to combine them into a more acceptable product.

Why not? The Mauler's arms are going to be that big, the Orion's arms were already that big, so why couldn't the Warhammer's arms be that big?

Must have. Usually happens when one of the anti-PGI reddit crowd starts up. Fit the bill? Otherwise? Dunno.

actually the concept art Mauler's arms are a bit stumpy. And the Orions entire forearm isn't just the weapons barrel like the Warbhammer. take a look at the stub the Awesome got in the last pass.

would probably prefer the upper arms just a tad skinnier, but overall, ain't gonna complain if it comes out close to that.

*deep breath*

HG are probably assembling their cadre of lawyers, feeding them with the souls of particularly cute puppies after bathing them in the blood of the innocent, so that their dark lord l̝͈͡a̶ẉ͈̮̻͙̬̰s̤̥͉u̟̩i̶̲t̳̺̠̦̭͜ can be awoken and shepherded into battle to wring every last penny out of everyone using a license they probably don't have a claim to anyway.

I'm sure they are, but Microsoft is currently re-animating their vast army of lawyers, awakening them from their tombs deep below the surface of the planet, soon to rise again and unstoppably crush HG with their mighty... legal submissions...

Woke up to see this forum first.

If we get the Warhammer....

I think I'd pay that much more to have one, no complaints at all.

Then we can have hellbringer vs Warhammer fights!
Honestly I see another 500 dollar "gold 'mech" variant offer coming.

<sigh>

I might invest a golden Warhammer AND Marauder.

F me for being stupid with money...

I think the Gold Mech thing is well and truly dead. There are still plenty of Gold Clan mechs available, but I doubt anyone has bought any of them since the Timbie's sold out.

Well, supposedly the Gold Mech was 100% an IGP idea, so, I guess that would be a good litmus test......

I'd let PGI gift me a Gold Summoner as a "life time white knight" recognition award.... =P

Hey, it's just pixels floating in the aether, so you know, why not?

I dunno if it guarantee all that. But at least it will mean if PGI does dive into this they will have the backing of Catalyst games

Real talk. How small do you think those PPC arms will actually be if they end up in our game tho.

Visuals aside, it would probably be an awful mech performance wise in MWO.
