The issue is purely the original 3025 Unseen art.

TRO: Project Phoenix didn't replace the original 3025 art of the Unseen, in-universe it merely developed 3067 refeshed and updated visuals for new variants, the original 3025 looks remained unchanged and off-limits. Of course that still left the original issue of people wanting the original looks and not having them. The difference with the Classics is CGL is retconning out the old/original 3025 art so that in the TT universe they are always going to have looked like this new art and not the Macross stuff.

Lets be honest though. Everyone is going to get the Warhammer, then run 4x IS LL's in the torsos and strip the low hanging arms. My heart breaks to think about it.

Here's the thing. It's not the 'l33t competitive crowd'. Winning as a given rule is more fun than losing. If the difference is pretty minor between 'meta' and 'not meta' then everyone is happy. When it's not and one thing is blatantly superior, well, you have an issue.

I'm a long way from comp tier but I still prefer running something that is mroe likely to win over something mroe likely to lose.

Edited to add:

I don't run Stalkers cuz I hate them. There's plenty of 'meta' I avoid like the plague. However, especially for CW your performance impacts more than yourself. In the contest currently for example it affects if your teammates get their 30 pts.

Ideally PGI makes a better stab at balancing. Barring that, people will run what works best. That's not bad. That just is what it is.

So much this. I could care less if my builds are considered "viable" or "competitive" (long live the STD 260 2xML Raven 3L!), I just care about having fun.

When the Battlemaster was first introduced, on the tuesday drops we used to have on Comstar NA, someone put nothing but ERPPCs in it. BOOM he went and oneshotted someone's face from across the map. On Caustic I think

I wish, but what you're talking about is the Noisy Cricket Mk. II. I got to do it with my BLR a few days after that one was made. However, Noisy Cricket Mk.III (9 ERPPC DWF) was my baby, made in honor of the previous 2. Popped it on the public test server for wave 1.

All of these, including the B33f's 12 ERPPC DWF, are the b@$t@rd children of this one:
