I think someone needs to lay off the Red Bull...

Reseen marauder isn't that bad. it looks much more possibly than robotech marauder.

That being said, I get the nostalgia for the original too.

Me, I'm 100% fine with both or any redesign that tries to incorporate both asthetics.

Here's how MW4:Mercs Mektek edition handled the marauder... works in my book.

+1, best looking version I have seen yet.

Definitive proposal for the Phoenix Project II:

Tier 1: Wasp and Stinger, $40;
Tier 2: Tier 1 + Valkyrie and Phoenix Hawk, $80;
Tier 3: Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Rifleman and Crusader, $120;
Tier 4: Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Tier 3 + Archer and Warhammer, $160;
Tier 5: Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Tier 3 + Tier 4 + Marauder and Longbow, $200.
(Marauder II could come as a bonus, reward or reinforcement)

Super cool loyalty mech: special geometry Battlemaster variant, more similar with the Unseen version.

This would be cool as there are too many Unseens to fit into one traditional pack. I know I'm the minority here, but I like what PGI did to the Phoenix mechs and hope that if this comes to pass, that they stick with the design lineage (meaning no change to the Battlemaster, she's beautiful as is). I'd also like to see an OST package too. Overall though I disliked the Project Phoenix TRO redesigns and IMO the Warhammer and Marauder were the worst offenders.

BUT there's nothing wrong with you guys wanting your bubbly cockpits and such for the battlemaster. PGI's opportunity for vanity mech styling. Didn't they say once they wanted to do this?

Oh man, custom geometry would be so cool.
Different cockpits, different Atlas heads, different Catapult noses (maybe not EXACTLY like the Founder's one, but i'd love a pointy nose for the Catapult), different shoulders, different Centurion mohawks, different HANDS! I'd love an actual fist on my Thunderbolt!

They did, they talked about it a lot during those early days in 2012 but it - like so many other things they talked about back then - seem to have taken a back-seat to just churning out new 'mech packs.

I really don't understand why they seem so almost pathologically averse to trying any other monetization schemes besides selling MC and 'mech packs; there's a plethora of other things they could do - custom 'mech geometry is just one idea - but so far they haven't really tried anything.

If there's one thing I've learned about online games in the 15 or so years I've been playing them it is that people are more than willing to pay for customization of their in-game avatars. Vanity armours, pets, mounts, clothing, hair styles, heck even monocles sell like hotcakes.

tdlr, probably pointed out a few times, and I made numerous posts about it, but whatever happened to the Atlas geometry tool, custom head changing geometry capability?

Nothing to.do with red bull. There are a lot of people who have been pissed over these mechs being locked away or reworked into something ugly for close to 30 years. The Battletech franchise got started with these mechs, this look. Those images we're WHY many of us got into battletech. The first real Battletech computer game even had them.

For more than a few people everything since then has been trying to chase those original designs. You'll see attempts to make something similar in several Clan mechs.

I'm far from alone in saying these are something I would throw money at.

Stands to reason that the mech pack money lately has been going to regional servers. A good thing IMO. I believe we'll get to it eventually.

Come on PGI! Get an "unseen / reseen" pack worked up by fall and do a crossover promotion with the Battletech kickstarter!

please note, the unseens will almost certainly appear in the new turn based battletech game by harebrained schemes. The game that is meant to share art with MWO.

thus, alex iglesias is almost certainly creating the art that will be shared with harebrained schemes right now, that same art that will almost certainly be in MWO.

This thread is nothing but people asking for PGI to sell them something that PGI may even already have - even recommending what we'd pay.

Among the brown sea of rage threads, complaints and concerns we have 30 pages of "Please take my money".

That is awesome.

I know, I was just razzing you, since you seem to be so excited about this. I know a lot of people on the forums here have been dying to have these mechs. I really hope we get these in game, I know I would be in line to get a Marauder, and probably a few others too.

Would buy a gold mech from that pack. Not kidding. I would pimp walk in a gold Marauder or Warhammer through matches day and night, full bling swingin'.

This is indeed true... Those of us old folk that got started way back in the day have been missing these mechs for decades, Aside from the looks the unseen were also some onf my favorite loadouts.

It's like playing an IP without its roots, they have been sorely missed.

Archer and warhammer are technically in game... or well... the Clan counterparts that is... (mad dog "Vulture" and Hellbringer "Loki).
Profile.. weapons... role... etc both quite match together very well...

Marauder on the other hand... that is pretty unique and hardpoint wise can be quite unique... I do hope they keep most of them at 1 ballistic hardpoint and also luke warm quirks to the AC 5 and stuff.... excluding that it is kind of vaguely simular to the 2012-2013 builds for the catapult K2 but more optimised and heavier...

Also MArauder will open up the Marauder II (only "unseen" 100 tonner out there and god it should be in game... ) and the Marauder IIC (clans have no IIC heavy mechs really, orion was a huge stretch and was a rare mech. Marauder IIC is a good option to fill in... note. Warhammer IIC is an assault...)

problem with that is I believe the Ac 5 is torso mounted...

And if we look at most mechs in game... Atlas (LRM 20 specifically), Direwolf B (LBX 2 specifically), etc... we see that PGI hates having weapons in areas they do not correspond to...

I can see PGI add a new button for spotlights and I wish PGI do add them BUT also normal lights for mechs as well (much more weaker lights that illuminate under 160 meters in front of them? Keep in mind spotlights do like nearly 1km of light... heh... I sense raves)

It wouldn't be that hard to have the long AC5 offset over the shoulder.

Hard to find some of the other mechs that we still are yet to have... but Mektek did some great work bringing the old designs into Mechwarrior 4 Mercs.

Still yet, to this day, I love running the Whammy and Marauder. The Archer's pretty darned solid too.
