Neverwinter ONLINE has a story and is Multiplayer.
Star Wars The Old Republic is Online and Multiplayer.
Yes both can be played Solo but the game is geared to be played as a group. Now both of my examples are PvE. But TT has always been a PvP type game. In that you have to have at least 2 players to really enjoy it.
This game needs more than just Me v You and the prize is a case of beer. I was bored with that style of CBT in the early 90s.
And both of those games are bargain bin terrible, compared to much better games.
That being said, what put this game into being a flesh eating disease riddled thing, is a complete lack of effort for Years, in the game's development, along with an extraordinarily poor choice in game engine.
This game does need a single player, as well as a coop mode. Frankly there's no real way to balance mechwarrior, certainly not with the route that PGI chose. Almost every idea I can think of to make mwo, worth being called a competitive online game, require the entire suit of mechanics PGI put in, to be heavily tweaked, and or thrown in the garbage bin.
The problem is, PGI thinks they're Blizzard, and can play in the esport arena.
When in reality they're worse than development teams that work on Movie Licensed Games.
