While yes, I want it...

I don't trust it. At all. If I dump money into this, is it going to just disappear Is it going to be "finished", but in a state so awful it brings shame to the Battletech name?

Without knowing what kind of state it will come out in...I just can't support this.
i have no problem supporting this company. i did so on a whim when they had shadowrun in kickstarter and i was more then pleased when they released the game 6 months later.

And nice job MoonUnitBeta, my laptop thank you!!

final liberation was fun, was the epic scale. i played 40k for 20 plus years...only because none of the nerds here would play battletech, now ever since i found x-wing miniatures and star trek attack wing i have left 40k for good. also i get to convince some of my bros to play mechwarrior clix sometimes lol

Looks like those dog tag rewards and stuff are only good for donating at GenCon... that really bites, I want some merc dog tags.

yeah, thats a frigging drag. but i'm gunna bet they will have something similar in the kickstarter, hopefully personalised tags

Actually, armed construction 'Mechs are important only during a small part of the Dark Age era (about 3130-3132 or 3135 or so) and they are typical for the former Republic territory.

In the post-Jihad period you still have many new BattleMechs and OmniMechs such as Legionnaire, Mongoose II, Osprey or Shockwave.

And after 3135 you will start getting units such as Malice, Shiro, Warwolf or Wendigo.

It is harder to include RPG elements into RTS games... besides, Harebrained Schemes is expert in RPG/Turn Strategy games.

I'd love to see a Btech game somehow based on the Warzone 2100 layout.

Since the QA stream is in like 4 hours, can anyone do me a favor and ask them about the possible inclusion of Quadruped mechs?
I won't be able to attend (because Twitch is blocked by my internet provider, for some reason, i don't comprehend), so if anyone can take my place of pestering them over Quads, i'd be much obliged.

So the answer is: "Maybe."

Jordan Weissman and Mitch Gitelman said that while they are more difficult to model, it's possible that they will be in the final game. Much will depend on the Kickstarter funding.

****, there goes my life-savings then!

Here's hoping they get all the money they need. AND THEN SOME.

They have a list of about 20 or 25 'Mechs for the basic stage of the game development. And as the funding will progress, they are going to add all various kinds of support vehicles, tanks, infantry, ASFs or perhaps even those Quads. As they said about dozen times, it will depend on how much money they will get.

HBS is golden, they are the guys that brought us the shadowrun games. So far, they had 3 kickstarter games, and all three were not only finished as promised, but were all very well received, and really good.

Also, one of the co-founders of Battletech is on the helm here, so have no fear.

You should check the MWO announcement thread about it. Everyone is getting hyped up for it.

It also seems like the collaboration is going to be PGI, HBS, and CGL (Catalyst Game Labs, the publishers of Battletech). Seems they will be using mech designs/assets from WMO. Which, let's face it, are 100,000 times better than the TRO renditions, especially the old wire-frame ones.

Also, since this will be more like TT (Turn Based), hardpoint locations shouldn't really matter much there. Which solves about 85% of the balance problems that MWO ran into.

Oi, as if I needed another reason to throw money at this.
