my name is Marauder3D, and I'm a whale. Take that for what you will. The truth is, I'm a 40 year old lifelong BatteTech fan that is gainfully employed. Mech packs are a bargain for me because time is my most valuable resource right now. Between the wife, two kids, and a dog, I wish days were 30 hours long to do everything that needs doing. So when I want some hot mech on mech action, I play MWO and have gotten great value out of the mech packs that have been offered.
That being said, the upcoming Origins pack rubs me....wrong. Something about getting the best of IS construction rules (Endo, FF, engines being unlocked) but having clan weapons seems a little munchy. Now I've enjoyed the Clan Waves, and the Arctic Cheater is one of my new faves in the pub queue. That being said, I think this Origins pack is the first one I'm just not interested in buying.
How are you all feeling about the pack? Have you signed up already? Are you planning to do so? Thoughts?

First time I'm been genuinely excited for a pack that wasn't ridiculously over priced (I'm looking at you Clan Waves).
Mind you, I only got to the Hunchback tier as the others don't interest me both from a piloting standpoint and a meta standpoint. Light mechs and medium mechs are my bread and butter.

Also because I didn't want to be a target when this game breaker goes live

Endo/FF unlocked doesn't mean much, we all know people are going to remove ferro and put on endo and DHS like every other IS mech.
Clan weapons, meh. It just makes more tonnage for faster engines. Boating clan weapons get's pretty hot.
I assume that Origin mechs will probably be range quirked so weapons are further than normal IS weapons, but not as far as clan. I'm guessing if there's any issues, PGI will handle it with quirks. Quirks quirks quirks.

As for power creep, right now it looks like it's more of a sprint than a creep, and that worries me a bit. PGI says their new "BV" system can handle it, but since nobody's seen that yet... Who knows?

They're straight-up Clan weapons with Clan ranges. Unless you're thinking that they'll pre-nerf all of the IIC Mechs with negative range quirks?

The C-SSRM-2 has a cooldown of 3.5 seconds. The JR7-IIC has 6 missile hard points. It's one short of being able to continuously chain-fire them for trolltastic cockpit shake with no gaps. Could do it with the cooldown module or a quirk, though.
