The Griffins traditionally stand watch over the throne of the Lyran Commonwealth, on Tharkad.

Actually, that's not true.
BLR-2C can't be a Star League 'Mech, simply because when it was designed, the Star League was about one and half century dead by then. And nobody else in the Inner Sphere than ComStar had access to advanced electronics such as Beagle Active Probe (when BLR-2C entered service).

I believe Joseph is getting his text from an early printing of Technical Readout 3050 (commonly shorthanded to TRO3050). I suspect this info has been retconned away as Comstar propaganda, as the MUL (master unit list) dates the BLR-2C to 2925.

Not even TRO3050 says that BLR-2C is a Star League 'Mech.

My hard-copy is in storage, so I cant readily double check it. The only other copy I have is a pdf of TRO3050U, which has none of the Unseen in it.

Yes, that's possible. However, their duty is extremely important. They are the last guard of the Archon and they saved the Archon's life during an assassination attempt in 29th century.

I always considered the Technical Readout: 2750 a good starting point. http://www.sarna.net...l_Readout:_2750

Of course that's not all they had and they also modified some of it for Tukayyid.

Add the Exterminator and the Spartan in the future. Aside from the Com Guard, pretty much no one fields it in this timeline.

And many other 'Mechs ...
They are not in MWO and there are no signs that they will be included in the future.

There are a huge number of mechs that work for comstar, Many that are not in the game yet, and lots that are.

Infact just looking at the mechlist, it is almost easier to tell mechs that comstar didn’t use. Jenners, Dragons, Enforcers, Cataphracts, and the clan Mechs. Some of the others were not configurations that they used, but those general chassis was used.

I think that to really get a Comstar look off the ground, they need to add Mercury, Mongoose, Hermes, Hussar, Spartan, Shootist, Bombardiers, Wyverns, Thugs, Lancelot, Guillotine, Crockett, Flashman, Champion, and the problematic Exterminator.

It would also be nice that is a Comstar flag force got added to the game, that instead of dropping in CW as 3 lances, it dropped as 2 demi companies. It would take some effort to overcome that tactical handicap but it would be cool. But I’ve Felt that Clans should drop as 2 stars in a spot, and 2 points in the third spot.

PGI has in the past said that their faction is Comstar. As a side note, a Comstar "demi-company" is also referred to as a Level II.

Edit: While I'm thinking of it, I wonder how long PGI has used the steer's skull as their emblem? Because it bears a certain resemblance to the Opacus Venatori emblem (a small team of trouble shooters/head-hunters that was nominally part of the Word of Blake's 52nd Shadow Division).

I once had a list of the ComStar forces deployed to Tukayyid, but I've lost that over the years. I checked that MUL list linked by Mors Draco and see a number of retconned units in there that didn't exist when the Clans were first added into BTech, so it's a problematic list. Does anyone still have the original stuff?

That's probably one of the best jobs in all of battletech they probably practice Drill and Ceremony constantly, probably DnC with their battlemechs too that would be a lot of fun. Playing galaga or something in the cockpit when they have to sit in boring meetings.

I think Comstar had some Atlas'

It's not so much that they didn't exist, it's just that things have been getting retconned in the BT universe for ages. And for the better, overall. Fleshing out older time periods for those that want to run historical scenarios with more than 12 different mechs is a good thing.

The incoming Black Knight is not actually the mass -produced BK from Canon, the one we are getting is a one-off that was in the MW4-Mercs game.
