We saw the pattern in the Wave 1 Clan Invasion pack. 2 tiered initial offering. First tier will be of the overall perceived inferior or less popular offerings, second tier of the more wanted, with the most desired put the farthest out of reach, initially.

Adding the reinforcements, is admittedly closer to the Phoenix Setup, but the weight distribution of the Macross Unseen leave a few logistical issues.

Maybe someone with more time, less of a headache than me can sort it better, but for now, my "Prognostication Sure To Go Wrong" is:

Packs the Way PGI will probably do them: (based off of initial clan intro wavee)
Unseen 1 $80 USD
-Stinger
-Raijin (due to lack of other Macross unseen Mediums)
-Archer
-Longbow
Unseen Lvl 2 (includes level 1 units) $160 USD
-Valkyrie
-Phoenix Hawk
-Warhammer
-Marauder II

Unseen Reinforcements: $40 USD
-Rifleman
-Crusader

For those who bout maxi pack as Early Adopters:
-Marauder.

You know it, I know it. So probably be a year before one can even get the Marauder unless one gets the maxi packs.

LOL.

(mind you, I would prefer them to simply drop in 4 mech waves, so one can pick and choose more their poison, just thinking about the way PGI will likely try to maximize the monetization of it. I might white knight a lot of their decisions, but I have never been in love with the packages entirely, even though some of the early adopters are good deals to serious players, with all the extras, I simply really prefered the mech of the month, simply get the ones you actually liked, and not get roped into ones you don't like with the packs.)

Thoughts? Predictions?

PGI would be crazy not to do Gold editions of everything in any Unseen pack.

They can make it a poll so they can use it as a shield to protect them from people who'd jump at the chance to call them money-grubbing monsters again. :D

Too much mech packs, too few content.

I want my old mechs from BT 2°edition, of course... but also, with 125 mechs half of which mastered, I'm a little less "hungry" for mechs; much more for content.
In fact: Res pack 2, only Wolf and Crab; IIC nada, I'll wait them for c-bills.

If pgi will be too much greedy, I'll get the unseen for c-bills too.
If pgi will be reasonable and will give us a good pack (valkyrie, phoenix hawk, warhammer and Marauder II, for instance), then I'll buy it day one.

Well, since they threw that debacle into IGPs lap, they'd be courting even more than usual QQ to touch it again.

Which might work if they stick to 4 mech packs. But they got to juggle at least one lemon per pack otherwise they end up with the Lemonade Pack (Ostscout, Ostsol, Ostroc, and take your pick) if they hope to monetize the Osts at all.
hardest part will be them spreading them "desirables" out.

And I just have a feeling it will start with a double tier 8 mech intro.... and you know you really can't put the most enticing into tier one, or who would buy tier 2? I doubt the Marauder has a chance to be in Wave/Tier 1 unless they go by 4 mechs packs, which also limits what they can offer, if they stick to their usual 1 of each Weight Class.

Basically logistics are going to be a bit tough and don't see any easy answer no matter how you approach it.

One more reason I miss Mech of the Month.

Each pack has a preorder time of 12 months ahead.

Grab them while they're hot!

Bottom line: Not excited. Excited for future concept art.

I will not buy any unseen mechs, MWO is a long running game only enjoyable for short bursts of time. Until they can make the game more fun for the long haul, getting these mechs will continue to empower PGI to make more mechs and shortchange the game.

The thing about this? The Mech Modelers have nothing to do with the rest of the game. Previous Mech Packs got us (for better or worse) the CW Beta, new UI, etc. Mech Packs are used to finance the rest of the Devs, since you can't very easily monetize maps (you can, but people ain't gonna like it) CW, other other elements.

As long as I see forward momentum (to things like an eventual immersive CW, maybe, and the PvE Campaign Mode), I'll continue to support as my wallet allows. Though I only got the Shadowcat pack because I won the Hankyu Pkg and decided to upgrade it, and won't be getting the Origins Pack. (Would love the HBK, but simply cannot afford it at this time).

Plus depending on what the kickstarter is for the new HBS turn based Btech game.......

Bishop,

A lot can change in a year +. Maybe they'll rethink things after the Steam Launch and get that huge influx of a player base throwing money at them like people here do. Until then, there are more important things to worry about and address. Like if the Marauder will have the iconic Chicken Walk or not. What do you think?

I for one believe what this game really needs is more mechs. I am glad PGI focuses on more and more mechs because until everyone of the existing and future mechs are released, this game will be lacking that "come back" factor that keeps the players coming back.

Just more mechs....that is all we need.

You forgot the exclusive Bounty Hunter maruader skin pack for just $100 more.

Regardless, I'm buying the biggest pack with all of the things.

I'll assume there's what, 12 possible mechs including the Warhammer and Marauder? They'd release four or so mechs in the first pack, throw in a 'reinforcement' pack fo the 2 extras and then announce at a later date that you get the warhammer or marauder (and two extra variants) if you own the top tier package AND the reinforcement package.

Then, a second wave of unseen, with the 4 remaining mechs in that package, and if you order that package AND own the top tier first package AND the reinforcement package, you get whichever of warhammer/marauder was not used for wave 1.

Month 1: Wave 1 announcement.
Month 1-3: Hypehypehypehypehypehypehype
Month 4: First two mechs are released into the wild to pre-orders. Cries of "OP" and "DOA" everywhere, with the occasional "Well... *I* like it and *I* did well in like THREE matches out of my last 20!".
Month 5: Mechs three and four are released, reinforcement package of the two oddball extras announced. OP/DOA, you get the idea.
Month 5-6: Hypehypehypehypehypehypehype
Month 6: Ha, thought they'd release them didn't you?
Month 7: Announcement of being eligible to receive your "free" Warhammer (or Marauder, I'll say Warhammer is first for now just because) for owning the top tier of wave 1 AND the reinforcement package (even level 1 can buy the reinforcements, but you MUST have the top tier + reinforcement to get the Warhammer).
Month 8: Reinforcements are released (OP, DOA etc. etc.). Wave 2 announced.
Month 8-11: Hypehypehypehypehypehypehype. Also the light mech from wave 1 is out for MC.
Month 12: Wave 1 medium is out for MC, light is out for c-bills. Wave 2 mechs 1 and 2 are out into the wild, OP, DOA etc. etc.
Year 2, month 1: Remaining wave 2 mechs are released. Marauder as a bonus for owning the top tier of wave 2 + reinforcements is announced. Warhammer finally released. Wave 1 heavy is out for MC, medium out for c-bills.
Year 2, month 2: Hypehypehypehypehypehypehype. Wave 1 Heavy out for c-bills, assault out for MC.
Year 2, Month 3: Announcement of a new clan pack or something. Wave 1 assault out for c-bills.
Year 2, month 4: Hypehypehypehypehypehypehype
Year 2, month 5: Marauder released. Just kidding, this is probably April of 2017 so it was a joke.
Year 2, month 6: Marauder actually released.

Marauder and Warhammer may wind up being swapped.

Standard "pre-order within 30 days to get the arguably most powerful variant of each!" policy applies to all of the above.

Also, coinciding with their respective c-bill release, mechs get "normalized" and "balanced".

My fear is that if PGI officially announces the rest of unseen is now officially seen, and teasing with silhouettes and out of focus images of the Hammer and MADs, and eventually reveal it as "Project Phoenix II: The Reborn" BUT the mech pack we get just the OST series. and we have to wait 6 months for before we can even pre order the WHM's, ARC's, CRD,'s MAD's, ect.

Well it kind of deserved it's own thread, since it was only tangentially related to the overall topic of the old Unseen mechs coming back in new, totally awesome and modern looks.
