Didn't they also say they were thinking of jumping the timeline ahead to facilitate this?

I want a Templar...

They did mention that, but I don't know when that would happen.

So, well... What is going to be next? I mean, when we get all the mechs available at current timeline. On which road will game turn? ^_^

Time line jump, and more mechs.

Plus, more weapons. Who knows what else.

Unseen mechs would bring back a lot of semi retired pilots and catch the eye of new players around the time of a steam release. Just my humble opinion, but I would lay hard money on it.

Honestly, I think it's time they stopped selling packs and switched back to 'Mech of the Month releases. They're not going to, of course...but I've had about all the packs I can realistically stomach. There's not many Clan 'Mechs left I really care about, and most of those are extremely long shots to get in. The Viper and the Phantom are the two I'd most dearly love to fly, but neither of those are going to be hitting the game, or if they do they won't get the massed-hardpoint variants that would make them deadly. A Phantom-C w/Prime's ECM would become everything the Ferret wanted to be but never was, and the Viper-C would basically obsolete the Shadow Cat, short the ECM the Shadow Cat carries and the Viper cannot.

Beyond those two? I really don't care anymore. We've got most everything we need on the Clan side now, every major role and most minor roles at least semi-filled. With the Origin 'Mechs coming out the overall weakness of Clan assault 'Mechs - Whale exempted - will be shored up, and we'll have everything we could need for fast strikers between the Cheetah, the Ferret, and the Winner IIC.

There's no more need for giant packs of nonsense. So stop making them.

So right now, we're getting 4 mech packs released per year (2 IS and 2 Clan). Each pack contains 4 chassis. That makes 16 mech chassis released per year. And you want them to go back to releasing only 12 chassis per year? Really?

Yeah, I do. That way I don't have to wait a year for the C-bill release of a given chassis, and I don't have to buy all sixteen chassis and clutter the hell out of my 'Mechlab in order to get the three or four I may actually be interested in.

As a hardcore fan who has spent several hundred dollars on this game, and bought mechs from Clan Wave 1, 2 and 3, I have difficulties putting into words how little I care about Wave 4.

Market saturation is real. I have about 90 mechs now, filling every category you can think of. I don't need any more mechs.

At this point, I'm wondering if mech packs is really the best long term strategy for MWO. I am struggling to understand how people are still so excited about this. Like "We have an 85 ton Clan mech and a 95 ton Clan mech, but a 90 ton Clan mech would be amazeballs!"

I don't get it. Unless you have some sort of super nostalgia-based love for a specific mech, like the Hatamoto-Chi or the Marauder, I don't get why people are still paying this much for new mechs, or why PGI expects them too. Maybe I'm underestimating how big BT is in America.

Progression my friend, progression! Clan mechs are new tech and are a hot topic (both here and in-game). Inner Sphere has every type of tonnage while the clans are still trying to plug certain gaps for chassis weights, and for those new to the game, it certainly is amazeballs ;).

Also I can see your frustration and distaste for mechpaks, and their prices. Later I'm thinking of pushing a idea here on the threads about lowering prices. Hopefully most would understand when I try to explain when that comes.

A la carte solved that already.

I'll probably give up the game once the power creep is so intense that bringing a Locust is hopeless death. Right now, it's crazy fun, and a total sink or swim type of game, but you've always, always got a chance. At some point, you won't, just like the Founder's Cat, Highlander, Victor, and a litany of others no longer have a chance, because they're too old.

Wouldnt buy a wave IV pack. Only remaining Omnis im really interested in are the Blood Asp and the Nova Cat (yeah the night gyr might be cool, but those AC arms are low mounted - Nova Cat has similar pod space, is the same speed but has way higher arms, and one of the arms can mount triple UAC5 (i.e. yes, it can do fully actuated triple UAC5, assuming PGI doesnt get mean on the LAAs)

The issue with that is that A'la Carte is a horrible deal, costing you, often, more than double what buying the equivalent package tier would. Buy two 'Mechs a'la cart? Just add another ten bucks and get the entire package. A'la carte also denies you any of the side benefits of ordering a package tier, like premium time, cockpit swag, extra variants, titles/colors, any of it.

A'la carte prices and what those prices get you are even worse than gift store prices, and gift store prices are the next best thing to criminal. I get it, Piranha really wants to sell packs, but does the a'la carte thing not strike anyone else as an active punishment for players who Want Stuff but Not ALL The Stuff?

So, with the eminent arrival of Resistance 2 mechs inbound, and Orgins this December, I'd like some speculation as to which mechs will be there in wave 4.

Slow light like adder/ kit Fox, but actually able to mount heavy weapons?

40 ton medium?

Another 60 ton mech?

90 ton omni?

Bonus mech by any chance if you ordered full wave 3 pack and wave 4?

Just thinking about it makes it that more interesting :)

Also want to point out, that given that Origins is next, we will probably have an IS pack before another Clan one. My guess is if the revisited Unseen mechs go well it might be then, if not it is anyone's guess, but Cyclops will probably be the assault.

Out of the timeline I believe.

And it's not all laser vomit, it can ballastic too. (Don't remember if there's a missile omnipod(?) )

Nova Cat B carries 6 x LRM-15 and 2 x ER Medium Laser. 8 tons of ammo? I think... not sure.

Why, Mei. I didn't know you were into older women. I'm not sure that's a proper discussion for the sensitive ears on this forum. Off to K-town with you!

Yep, I said and know that already (mentioned it to someone already here lol), Phoenix pack 2 is where my money is.
