Greetings MechWarriors,

We will be rolling out a hot-fix on Friday August 7th, tentatively scheduled for 3:00 PM PDT (10:00PM UTC), with the following changes:
  • Additional crash fixes
  • Fixing an issue where the new ping indicators were not displaying in the Play Now details pop-up
  • Fixing an issue where the 'For shorter wait times...' text could run outside its allocated space
  • Fixing an issue where Gamma and Brightness settings were being reflected in the 'Mech portraits
- Portraits will now be taken at default Gamma and Brightness settings (.5 and .5)

An early peek at what's in store for August 18th

As outlined in the August 4th Patch Notes we have additional improvements to the new Select 'Mech screen currently scheduled for the August 18th patch.
      • Filter persistence between client sessions, after matches, and after Testing Grounds sessions
      • New Select 'Mech menu access in Private Lobbies (new Select 'Mech in the Community Warfare Drop Deck screen will unfortunately not make the August 18th patch)
      • Display of equipped Cockpit Items in the 'Mech Stats window
The following Select 'Mech menu changes are also set to release on August 18th:
      • The currently-equipped Engine will be listed below the Jump Distance slot in the 'Mech Stats window and in the mouse-over pop-up window
      • The number of portraits displayed per row in resolutions above 1280x720 will be reduced by 1 to allow for better views of the selected 'Mech model
      • Resolving an issue where 'Mech portraits could appear blurry if the client was set below 1080p when the portrait was created
      - 'Mech portraits will always capture at 1080p, regardless of your client resolution.
      - Texture quality inside the portrait will still reflect whatever texture quality level you were at when the portrait was updated.
        • The 'Mech performance line graph will be removed from the mouse-over pop-up window
        - In its place, the pop-up will instead display the currently equipped Modules, Consumables, and Cockpit Items on that 'Mech

            Sounds nice.

Except, we still don't have a HS counter (just make space in front of "Double" or "Single" and put the # there - it's not that hard).

Can we expect the ECM changes to be implemented next patch?

            Nice.

The August 18 patches seem to address our key concerns on filter memory and seeing what engines and modules we have equipped.

It sounds (?) like we may also be able to see the full Mech instead of half of it, which is a nice touch.

            Nice tweaks coming up.
Happy to hear about the filter persistance and module/consumable mouse-over pop-ups!

            Nice work PGI.

            It keeps getting better

I do miss the teal theme though

Filter persistence between client sessions, after matches, and after Testing Grounds sessions
Thank you ... this is probably my biggest gripe about the new screen (now I'll have to find something else to complain about).

The number of portraits displayed per row in resolutions above 1280x720 will be reduced by 1 to allow for better views of the selected 'Mech model
Darn it ... that was my next thing ...

... currently equipped Modules, Consumables, and Cockpit Items on that 'Mech
Ever since modules and cockpit items were brought into the game, we've been dreaming of this day ... praise the Dorito.

Very good. The list of things to improve in the UI grows shorter and shorter.

Looks like a nice little hotfix with some nice patch material coming out on the 18th. I'm highly curious what else will be included in the 18th besides the further mech-select improvements (they're still nice, but I know that's not going to be all that is in that patch).

Regardless good job, quick response, and keep it up. Thank you for the hard work you're putting into the game to constantly try to improve our experiences and make MWO as awesome as possible.

Do you mean the portraits will be reduced by one column instead of by one row?

            If so that's great.

PLEASE, add filter by module equipped. This must be the number one request by those who have been closely following UI development.

While you are at it and fixing the ingame mech lists.. how about adressing the Website mech lists some time? The "fixed mechs list" has been down for a few months now.

            Hot fix sounds awesome.

However ... Will we be getting the dynamic mech portraits in the Skills tab, instead of the stock portraits? :)
