Yes they were very broken, the spider had a huge gaping hole in its CT, that weapons fire either passed right through or registered no damage.

- Every patch, PGI WILL mess up whatever hitreg fixes went in previously.
- It will take 3-4 patch cycles before PGI "discovers" the source of the hitreg problem.
- Hitreg will be patched and everything will be great for a few days.
- New content patch is released that will mess up the hitreg fix.
- Repeat...

not really the point. Yes, "sweep the leg, Daniel-san!".
Great advice. But IF (and it's a big if, ATM) there is something actually wrong with the torso hitboxes, then ignoring it with pithy advice like "sweep the leg!" is pretty dumb, as it doesn't actually address the underlying issue.

Hmmm...seems hit and miss. I find them far easier to kill than before...that said, there are still matches where I can't seem to register dmg on them, but much fewer and far between, for me, anyhow.

and how often has that been proven correct..... I know of at least 3...Raven, Spider and Firestarters, that indeed did prove to be borked.

More like illogic or maybe a Kindergartener's logic.
These are two different aspects:
1.) Imbalanced hitboxes
2.) A means to destroy a Mech
Just because 2. exists doesn't mean 1. is not a problem worthy or in need of a fix.
Imagine a DWF would have no Hitboxes at all except head and I would say "It still has a head, shoot the head."
That would just be a plain stupid and ignorant response to the actual problem.
And so is the sentence in the initial quote.
Most people in here really have a serious problem with logical thinking.
On topic:
I currently level up ACH (double XP, meh). And I have to say from inside the cockpit it feels almost even more OP than when fighting it:
- I had no skills yet (no GXP initial push)
- I am a terrible, terrible light pilot and I don't like the "light" play style.
- Still I ran around happily, hardly taking any damage despite massive enemy fire, even running right through a lance of enemies, easily killing reds left and right.
The only "skill" required is to NEVER stand still (including never to shutdown).
That's it. Aiming skill, JJ control, tactical awareness, all irrelevant. As long as you're running, you take minimal damage and laugh the enemy in the face. That can't be normal.
People complained in global chat and all I said was yes, they are right. ACH is OP like hell.
Edit:
Oh, I see Bishop just smashed the same sentence.
Sorry Bishop =).
I like my version better, however :-D

IF there is a bug in hitboxes, then yes, it has to be addressed. Thou I doubt so, I can clearly see ACHs to fall apart from aimed shots. Yeah, aimed shots. If you go to bukk@ke ACH's torsi with laser spam - you'll end in nowhere.
Yet it doesn't cancel that rather PRO tip for anyone dealing with lights (not only ACH) - sweep all the legs of lights. IF you'r shooting lights somewhere else - you'r just way far from skilled player, that's it
So we all see them here, crying lakes on forums.
PS: yes, there IS one light, that can be easier killed by shooting its center,.. but I'll just drop it by now

Imagine? Yes, that is completely imagination. Head hitbox and leg hitboxes are not comparable. Leg hitboxes are a bit bigger if you didn't know. Unless you have a serious problem with logical thinking of course. The "problem" you see in ACH is not hitboxes, it is the clan XL engine that allows it to survive the other torso loss. Now let's say if the XL loss dropped it's maximum speed by X... That would be a nice nerf to it if people actually want to prefer shooting the upper torso.
But then again we have lots of people with bad aim trying to shoot ACH with GOOD hitboxes to the torso though should know it's not a good idea against 1) a light mech, 2) a light mech sporting clan XL.

imo if their hitboxes do register the full damage they shouldn't be touched, spreading damage isn't a crime

unlike lasers, gauss register the full damage hit or miss; 1 gauss slug deals 15 damage and brings a cheater's leg (28 armor) from undamaged to yellow; the second one probably missed/hit another part of the cheater because they didn't get the convergence/ if you mean yellow structure, 2 gauss slugs bring an undamaged cheater's leg to the yellow structure
anyway i see many such reports but for some reason they are never proved with youtube vids or something... shadowplay which is a standard nvidia asset can easily record like 20 last minutes of your games on the background deleting the older records
