Can we get a confirmation of actual testing of this game in at least the Windows 10 Developer Preview before we talk about more mech packs??? It's going to drop here shortly and would like to know what the PGI stance is on it....

I have my laptop imaged with 10. I could install it to test and report here if you'd like!

Please do Jazzbandit. I'm also interested in if the game can play on windows 10.

Windows 10 uses a variation on the same NT kernal that 7 and 8/8.1 already use, so it's highly unlikely to have issues with MWO. Not 100% sure it will be problem free, but likely 98% sure. :)

Also, the RTM has worked fine with all the steam games I've thrown at it.

Should work, but not well. I used my ultrabook for MWO before I built my new-ish desktop, and it ran MWO at 20 FPS on low everything 600x800.

Dem HD4000 integrated graphics do.

Yeah, I'll try it and let you guys know!

I've heard from some people using the development version that MWO works fine. No issues, and performance should increase if previously using 7, and possibly a slight decrease from 8.

Win 8 was highly optimized over 7, despite it's ******-as-hell visual design. Win 10 is somewhere in the middle, with better performance than 7, but much, much better UI than 8 (in my opinion)

I can't imagine they would not plan to incorporate compatibility with Windows 10.

That said, I don't think Windows 10 will end up changing so much that it renders everything incompatible. Though I'm very skeptical of letting go of 'my' Windows 7. After what Microsoft did with Window 8 (the lack of 's' was intentional), I'm not updating until after having a chance to see what all nonsense they did or didn't do this time around.

I've run it fine under 10. In fact it runs smoother than it does on 7.

It's better then 8.1. Metro tiles in your face is unpleasant. And if i recall: Windows 10 has more attention to gaming then any windows before.

Prince of persia on DOS doesnt count.

10 is honestly what Windows 8 should have been. They really should have made the "Start Screen" a toggle option that could be disabled. Instead, we got 3rd party tools that mimicked the Windows 7 Start Menu.

So far I've had no real issues with 10, although I haven't messed with the most recent release build yet. I guess I've been too busy getting rid of old 2003 servers before they stop getting updates in July. :(

Windows 8.1 was released very quickly, without adequate testing or quality control, and contains memory leaks and other known issues. Windows 10 should be better. But I guess none of us want to risk upgrading for fear the opposite would be true. And so we wait and hope others will take on that crash test dummy role for us.

Well, it's free to any fool who ended up with Window 8 or to anyone who clung to Windows 7 - and it's a higher number.

It's also got a start-looking button that opens up that metrosexual interface thing that they were all on about a few years ago (soon to be replaced with compulsory ****-UI at the rate things are going).

So it may not be a -bad- deal.

Although I am entering into it skeptical. Window 8 was a disaster and an insult - so I'm not exactly jumping for joy over 10.

7 was good, though. Hopefully, enough idiots were fired over 8 and they got something sensible going on with 10.

Otherwise, my next OS is going to be a linux build of some sort.

Not to mention it is a nightmare to try and image. If you image it and attempt to deploy it on a group of PCs, you're SOL. It won't take any license key you throw at it. You're better off just staying with 8 to tell the truth.

I pray that 10's release will be more reasonable. I'd really love for HP to ship my company some OEM disks so I don't need to go through an upgrade process on existing PCs.

Yeah.... it boots fast as hell, but beyond that, I get right click crashes, task manager not booting when needed, dissapearing admin privelleges, and the most temperamental OS in regards logging in after a cold shut down

I still hope Valve's plans work out and we see the return of OpenGL gaming, so that we can finally get rid of this whole Microsoft affair.

It's really a question of how long you want to keep your PC. Windows 7 is only on track to get updates until 2020. After that, you'll be running a highly insecure OS. Windows 10 will get updates until 2026.

That point alone make it a no-duh decision to upgrade for free any Windows 7 and 8 PC to 10.
