I do equally as much as the warhammer and maruder. Not sure if it would be great in mwo for me though as I am not a fan of ac2.

Actually we already have a Rifleman, only now it is called Firebrand. I know, real money, but still it is there without attracting lawsuits from Harmony Gold, so I would take that.

I thought the Rifleman was cool until I saw the Rifleman IIC.

Rifleman is a glass cannon. Poorly armored, hot as hell, unexemplary speed. Strangely, however, the 2xAC5/2xLL combo is not bad in MWO.

The Rifleman has a sentimental place in my heart, but as someone who tends to gravitate towards Thunderbolts, Crusaders and Archers among the Unseen heavies calling the Rifleman's armor paper-thin by comparison is unfair. To paper. :D

Granted, this is more of an issue in TT games where Stock mechs (in my experience) are the rule rather than the exception, and not so much in MWO where a Stock mech is about as rare as a polkadotted dodo.

It really sucks that every mech in MWO is basically forced to carry maximum armour in every location (except if you've stripped arms of armour or shaved a little bit off the legs) in order to be viable. It would have been nice to have some mechs that are more fragile whilst others are more durable, but in MWO this is rather random due to 3D models and hitboxes.

Of course, some mechs do get armour and structure quirks, but there's almost never any kind of consideration or calculation when a player decides how much armour to put on the torso. It's always MAX ARMOUR!!!1! on every mech. I think it's dull, because some mechs in Battletech lore (and older Mechwarrior games) simply had more armour equipped than others, and compensated with extra firepower.

When every mech has the same amount of armour relative to their weight, it's kind of like if every mech in the game had max engine size relative to their weight. Imagine if every 50 ton mech carried a 250 engine, every 55 ton mech carried a 260 engine, every 60 ton mech carried a 270 engine, etc. It would be dull.

Ah well. Hopefully things will be different in the other Battletech game.

NEVA!

But if you want a slow 45 tonner with a lot of ballistic, you can take the vindy 1x :D

Quite similar to Vulcan, I suppose.

I'm leveling one right now actually (Goose poptart, seems to do pretty well).

But Vulcan is 40 tons. And if you want a fast 40tonner with lasers and missiles, you can take the Cicada X5 B)
Though, to be honest, i think i'd like both the Assassin and Vulcan to make it into MWO, even if the Vulcan looks cooler.

I hate how people think it HAS to be bad. This is a game. Pgi can do whatever they want. They can make it the best mech in mwo. I want it to be an amazing fast jumpjet sniper. If it gets the same kind of quirks as the highlander 723 combined with dragon 1N quirks, it WOULD be good.

Then Clanners will cry (and i will laugh)!
But you are right... look what they turned the Urbie into. Even the Firestarter, who is crappy on tabletop against other mechs, is a killer here.
And the Atlas, one of the kings of the battlefield on CBT, is crappy here. Go figure...

That's why I would like to have the Assassin: a 40 tonner, fast as a cicada but with JJ! And without chicken legs, too!

(of course if the vulcan will be released, I'll take it. C-bills version)

I've built one out of my Firebrand, so it kind of scratches the itch.

(But absolutely, bring on the assassin!)

And that's the sort of thing which could give otherwhise unpopular mechs a new lease of life. A Rifleman with the Rifleman's canon advantages as an anti-air platform would be very much a useful thing in a game where the aerospace element was an actual thing. Or if infantry was an actual thing then Firestarters, Vulcans and the like could actually be good at their job of killing infantry in horrible, horrible ways.

There are so many lore-based quirks from the TROs which would be very interesting to see implemented in an MW game IMO, like the Phoenix Hawk being a popular recon command mech due to its Advanced Communications package (more accurate info sent to the rest of the Company about the enemy? Somehow better overview of Your own team/lance on Your instruments? Whatever, you get the idea).
