This poll really needs to let us check multiple boxes.

For me, it's a combination of very long wait times mixed with paltry rewards and apathy from constant map resetting.

I could live with the long waits if I was remunerated well, or if controlling a planet meant something for my faction.

I could live with mediocre rewards if I got into matches quickly or holding a planet was meaningful.

I could live with map resets making territory worthless if I got paid well or at least got into games quickly.

Sure, there are other problems, but I can live with those. I generally drop solo or with impromptu groups, and I don't mind facing off against an occasional 12-man or teams of smaller groups. The lack of matchmaking doesn't bother me. The various problems with the game mode don't really concern me that much either.

The problem with CW is that it doubles or triples the normal match length, on top of extended queue times, but doesn't increase either the fun factor or the CBill/Xp rewards. If anything, CW maps are more predictable, less fun, and CW itself provides much less rewards over time compared with group or solo queue. There is also no matchmaker, so the games themselves are less competitive.

Also, there is absolutely nothing whatsoever that makes me care about the star map on a level beyond "hey cool graphics". Taking a planet does nothing, and isn't even great for bragging rights, since 90% of the game's players are never going to see your unit tag in the drop room anyways. Individual planets are indistinguishable, and don't result in different maps, game modes, objectives, anything, beyond the invasion/counter-attack mechanic being in different states.

So, just to summarize: Less fun than group queue, less rewards than group queue, takes 2X-3X longer per match, queue times can close to double that, and sticking through all of the aforementioned will only net you a few free mechbays, titles, and some other schlock.

Where is the option for:

"What's the point?"

(Nifty game mode, but in the end, the battles don't mean anything more than the pub queue battles... and those don't have the wait times.)

This. There needs to be another option in the poll. Sure you work on getting planets but... why? lol

go on then I've added it.

I would suggest the no point in holding planets is tied up in the rewards, which is tied up in waiting times.

But who am I to go deeper than the I want stuff option?

I was assuming it had more to do with the new matchmaker, but that's also possible. Bigger seed will always result in better matchups.

It's interesting to see who pops up in similar tiers, though. I've played some games with a full set of 23 people whose names I recognize and they're tons of fun. Then I'll play a game with/against some random Steiner or Marik 10-12 and they'll get absolutely facerolled, which is kinda boring. If I wanted to kick LRM boats in the teeth, I'd holla at davion in cw.

I played 1 game yesterday where my group of 3 was paired with a 9 man from steiner. We won the game, but none of them broke 150 damage. My understanding of PRS is that it shouldn't be overly inflating large group ratings the way ELO did, but maybe I'm wrong. That or maybe the MM just has problems finding a spot for a huge group with people in lots of different tiers.

Either way, solo drops are generally fun again for now. It's nice.

Currently, the lobby destruction cases are stopping me from playing CW. They sound dangerous.

New poll option: "Lobby has been destoryed" by PGI

In all seriousness to PGI (I know I give you guys a hard time, but I do really and honestly love this game and the people who play it)...

...the snarky
...the talented
...the friendly
...the pita's
...the 'rambo' warriors
...the consummate team players
...the meanies
...the unskilled
...the good
...the bad
...the ugly
...the 20k drop with lifetime WLR: 0.01 / KDR: 0.07 average (you are the model of consistency my friend)
...even that Zarathustra guy

...thank you so much for all that you (PGI) have done, without you none of it would be possible (the good, the bad, or the ugly).

Don't really care for the usual complaints; planet meaning nothing, stomps, wait times ect. It's game modes for me. The game modes we have right now, nothing that wrong with them right now just lack of more. So many possibilities for differen't game modes; convoy capture(if we had ai) hitting supply bases, missions that encourage lance play by hitting multiple objectives, scouting missions ect. Basically take any single player level from an older game and that could be a game mode. I know we're getting a 4v4 soonish but the rate of game modes in cw or out of cw is really lacking when so many possibilies exsist.

My reasons:

- long waiting times
- horrific bad rewards
- to little Mech viability
- no worth of planets we are fighting for
- the happening PUG stomps

The poll needs check boxes for multiple reasons :)

Been saying this exact same thing since I first saw what the called CW.

There's what 4 full MW games, 2 Assault games that I can recall, at least 2 first gen console games, dozens of game campaign books, more dozens of story books - very close to none of that being used past the Mechs. It really astounds me how there's so much there to pull from that are things that kept the EXACT target audience for this game engaged for 20+ years and its all sitting there being ignored.

I noticed that as well. After the first 24 hours which seemed like more of the same, I've been getting back to back solo queue matches that end with 12-9 kill scores or thereabouts and complete stomps are becoming rare.

Right now, what's stopping me from playing CW is a clear lack of objectives.

My Clan holds the space around Terra, thus, our mission is complete...

Also, the game mode is so bloody repetitive, it gets boring after a while.. And since not many people play it anymore, its almost impossible to get a good 12-man going... and pugging just isn't worth the aggravation..

Also, the long wait times to get a match is not a good incentive either..

The biggest reason however... is the takeover tournaments. They simply make you play Solo Que.

If there was a tournament going in CW, I would probably play, and so would many others...
