Still happens. How about you put some turrets at the spawn area on top of the drop ships. Maybe then it will stop or at least slow them down.

If you're stlil getting spawncamped in a game with the ridiculous new dropship lasers and protected spawn locations, you deserve to lose.

Making the spawn stronger encourages more spawn camping. If you are pushed back into spawn usually it means the game has already snowballed.

I said this, because I was on a team that spawn camped the drop zone due to winning. Not because I was losing the match. Sure we lost one or two mechs to the drop ship, but nothing too bad. Lets face it, it sucks for those guys when they cant even move before they are dead. Actions like this is what is driving people away from a small population already.

@Sky, thread stays open.

If you were able to spawncamp with the new conditions you were already overwhelmingly winning, what's the problem? The match actually ends faster that way.

Without a MM matches are just going to snowball like that. Battles are often decided before the map loads.

edit: which is why I lobby for either consolidating the map down to 2 factions and adding a basic MM or limiting groups to 4-mans which have to carry the players that are getting lolstomped right now.

So you'd rather they get obliterated after having 20 seconds to move around and wiggle their mech arms a bit?

If they're getting camped, the team matching was poor and their best bet is to just get out and try again.

I agree Vlad, but it may help them at least live a little longer or the Turrets + Drop ships can thin out the ranks some. As it is, we need to find someway to keep the player base from shrinking in CW and Spawn Camps are not a way to keep the new players interested.

I agre Kin3ticX, there needs to be some kind of MM. Maybe the new Tier system can be applied to CW.

Your not gonna keep spawn camping from happening. All you can do is move back where your camped from. Used to be able to sit underneath the dropships and kill the mechs as they fell if you wanted. Now? Oh no, large lasers! Okay, sit back a bit, kill mechs as they're funneling outta the spawn. Or, if no one wants to leave the safety of the spawn, wait till the dropships have left, brawl in get some kills, get out, wait for the next batch.

Add forward turrets and what happens? The campsite moves, or it spends the down time waiting for the next wave clearing turrets. So long as one team can kill the other by bringing more mechs into the fray and snowballing the opposition, spawns will be camped.

Spawn camping happens not because of map set up, but because of team manouvers. I've had some great games on Sulferic, before the map redo and dropship buff, in which neither side got to the enemy dropzone until the last wave, cuz both sides refused to give ground.

It was a glorious battle.

PGI's solution didn't fix spawn camping and I agree if your pushed all the way back to your spawn there then chances are you've already lost the match

And with CW not having an elo system or any sort of MM system battles are going to continually be usually decided before they start either because organized group vs pug or groups fighting much higher tier teams. A balancing system to better control it I think would help

last thing we need is more players thinking the spawn area is some kind of fortress. if you are getting stuck in the chokepoints at either end of the spawn location you are doing something wrong. get out into your base and defend it.

Still don't understand why we can't make the drop zones capture points and shut them down.
Make it a valid tactic that doesn't then cause grief by dropping players one at a time into a hot zone.
Or what about being able to actually shoot down a dropship?

Why not 3 spawn points like the New River City map? CW right now is Heaven and Hell. I like a match where it is a 50/50 as to who will win. I played against Ghost Bears( they landed on a Clan Wolf planet) that game was a thrill as we won in the end but each wave took more of us out. Later I played against an IS merc outfit and they blew us out.

I don't plan on not playing CW anytime soon.

wrong, the best bet is to stop playing CW, which is exactly what we're doing.

Spawn camping is not the issue. Spawncamping beeing the only way to get a good payout is.

Why does finishing the objective in attack-mode pay so bad? I thought the objective is the point?

Why is there no way to finish counterattack early for the defending team?

These two things encourage spawncamping.

I was killed by a drop ship while approaching the enemy's spawn, just last night.

I don't like spawn camping, but when a team starts camping in its own spawn area and not pushing out, then the game's going to end in a loss for them anyway.

May as well get it over with.

Was this the game on Hellebore Springs?

If yes, this match was a perfect example, as to why the defending team needs a way to end a counterattack early.
