Just my 2 cents about the obviously biggest chunks of the patch. 1. New Forest Colony is so beautiful, i actually had my jaw dropped. Huge kudos to PGI. This is going to be very interesting to work out. I was afraid this one and every upcoming larger map would cause slight FPS drops on my pretty bad machine like new river city does sometimes. But it runs very smooth, even better than new river city. They also nailed the overall colours and atmosphere and that's how immersion works also, not only the size of trees matter. The map "feels" very natural to me, wich is almost as important as scale (for every game, not only for "stompy robot combat"). 2. What about PSR? Wait times are a little longer, but nothing i personally would worry about. Matchmaking: I played with people i never met before, wich i'm pretty sure of. Wich means there definitly were some changes in terms of bracket / bucket. I enjoyed my matches a lot yesterday, win or loss. It would be nice to get some additional info about the reworked scoretable somehow, it is slightly different and would be interesting to know how it works. Very good job, PGI.

Yeah a new map! Nice big map, just, for, wait, what!? The bases are still in the same places, game play still exactly the same. Wow... How about moving them outward and opening all the 15x15 blocks not just 9x9 so that we can use and have to use the whole new map. Maybe in opposite corners? Please? Otherwise love it...

Gotta love the fkn bullsh!t ... for three years we've been told over and over that Elo works "FineTM". Now suddenly it doesn't, and our dear devs tell us what we told them like a thousand times over same three years ...

I guess we'll see just how good this "new" PSR BS is, but the fact that new players are placed into tier 4 tells me quite a lot about it already ...

Also, for the record ... new Forest Colony is sh!t, just like new River City.

Clueless devs and still clueless, ggclose.

Every match I am playing, my team is getting trashed.

How can I find out my tier because this is majorly sucking the fun outta the game. I am watching some of the players on my team and they are using LBX20's as sniping weapons...

No more 2-12's .... please helpppppp.

@Imperious ... why do you assume that your opponent's group (12x3) is any different from yours (3x1, 3x2, 3x4, 3x5)? Will there be an imbalance occasionally? Sure. Is it always trying to screw you? No, not always.

And this is why LRMs suck ...

- When you're in the back launching missiles, your armor is not sharing damage with rest of your team.
- When you're relying on locks, you're not able to quickly shift from one target to another.

- Many hard counters ... ECM, Hard Cover, Min/Max Range.

- You cannot focus a specific component and disarm, disable, or kill efficiently.

If you're going to run a LRM-dependent assault, please, do us all a favor and min-max the crap out of it. Bring the biggest launchers that will fit, bring all the ammo. Equip an XL250 engine (you don't need speed ... you're going to be in the back anyway). Don't bother with more than 2-3 points of armor on any one component ... use that tonnage for more ammo! (You're going to be using your front line team mates to soak damage anyway.)


This is why LRMs are more of a backup weapon. When I lose LoS, I use LRMs until I get it back again. (LoS weapons can not shoot around corners.)

For starters, calm down. We are finally getting changes we wanted and this is your reaction? Devs listen to the community, we usually get the changes we want. We got EU and Oceanic servers, new Mechlab an Mech Select, UrbanMech that people requested since the start of the game. And now we finally got new ranking system that rates players depending on their actions, not on the win/lose of a match. Also, new players are put into tier 4 so they face players that could guide them a little, not just tier 5 noobs that don't even know what arm lock is and only play LRMs. As for the new map, we finally got a map where you can use several strategies, not just 2-3 like before. I think devs are doing magnificent job with all the new things!

With PSR, premades/units may judge a recruit by PSR and having like a New recruiting requirement to get into the premade/unit, something like " must maintain Tier 3 to stay in " another drastic requirement "you must hold a Tier 1 at all times..." slowly but surely rifts will form, more PuGs and less premiere premades/units( that have very strict recruiting standards with the new PSR)

I see what your point is, but I don't think PSR will change much in this matter. Those elitist units that want only the best of the best already have some strict requirements, so PSR will be just another in the set. But there are only few units like that, most units simply want people that enjoy the game and want to try more coordinated gameplay. If you want to enter one of those elitist units, then you will have to play like they want you to play. I personally see no fun in that, that's why I'm in a casual unit, that sometimes plays a bit harder.

read my topic about stomps in general..... im at 10/11 total stomps, no idea whats going on.

Well it is a brand new ranking system. So it does not surprise me that it has some balancing to do. (You don't put on a new pair of new glasses and be used to them that moment.) I will give it about a week to adjust.

sry to hear that, but i've experienced the exact opposite, 3-4 roflstomps on boths sites, but mostly balanced games (and most of them winning); so far i can't complain with the new elo^^

A 10 match score means you powered up, got a Lance in Formation and a Spotting Assist. Or you landed 1 Large Laser hits.

Explain to us how you can carry a game with that?

Match Score has always shown how good you are as a member of a team. Team orientated players know this and used it as a measuring stick. Non teamplayers used Damage as the measuring stick, now they will dwell in low tiers along with AFKers, TK, and other undesirables.

I really love the new changes. It will take some time for system to gradually balance players but I am confident it is moving in the right direction. The new Forest map is stunning! Congratulations for your work.

Lastly, I would like to ask as other players already did, that PSR tiers be available to players (ingame or through progile page) regardless if they are made public or not. Each player needs to know where he stands.

Good changes. A note of an error in mechlab. Does not appear in the red mech who are stripped of their equipment. If possible correcting grateful because much like fans. Arrengem the Streeks :D plz

Just had so much fun scouting for my team. Spotting all those enemy mechs and guess what that extra points or what you call them simply doesn't make a difference................. Forget getting a score if you lead your team to victory by highlighting the enemy mechs..... tags and narc yes others not really....

Issue with the new map, take any mech with jump jets and jump against a wall and half of the time you get stuck or bounces backwards like a rubber ball...

Is PSR calculated for each kind of mechs ? (Assault, Heavy,...)
