Is PSR calculated for each kind of mechs ? (Assault, Heavy,...)

I going to guess that it is because there was an elo for each weight class, so it'd make sense for the new system to also be per weight class.

If this fails I have a new "ELO" approach, it's called "grab the next 9 of each class and randomly create 2x3/3/3/3 teams... " leftovers go back to the front of the line (to minimize sync drops).

Can it really be any worse than over-thinking ELO/PSR?

We now have a player pool that is sufficiently large that while you may have some roflstomps (not that we'll ever eradicate them), we should have some naturally occurring balanced-ish games.

Also, on losing team, throw in some "best performance on team" incentives *if* players clears certain milestones and/or doesn't leave game and start another... make them not ragequit... you may get 2-3 players that turn the game around just competing for those incentives...

It was confirmed by PGI on reddit that it is not. Single score for all mechs. The reddit folks are pretty unanimous in disliking this.

No.... It does not, considering that next to said trees there are other small, mech sized trees.... Like I said im my previous post in reply to your post.

I get that my original post was somewhat inflamed and maybe worded a too strong. However, from my perspective, big trees are only a little taller than an Atlas. From my perspective those 'mech sized trees' look like saplings. This isn't helped by the grass-like plants in the map that further messes up my perception of the scale. With the majority of the scenery being dominated by plant-life, the artificial parts of the scenery fail to correct my perception of the scale of the map.

River city in comparison has a largely artificial scenery of cars and buildings that dominates my perception of it's scale. There I think it works extremely well.

NO, you have it all wrong..... Look. Imagine an M1 Abhrams tank - and stand it vertically on it's barrel. A firestarter is only about 1-2 meters taller than that and just as wide! People think mechs are bigger than they really are.
An Atlas is only about 17 meters tall! That is under 2 'abrhams tanks' high. WE are about 1.7 meters tall on average!

I'm confused why you think using a tank as a reference of size is going to work better than using a car, most people don't have an intimate knowledge of tank sizes and I'll admit I'm one of them. An abrams (at least if we're talking the M1 abrams and not some Abhrams that google fails to suggest) is 3.66m wide, a narrow parking space is 2.3m wide. cars will therefor be even smaller than that so I don't think I'm "all wrong" in thinking that the head of a humanoid mech is about as wide as a car (based on your reference of a light mech being about as wide as an abrams). Therefor I'm also not "all wrong" in estimating those giant trees to be about twice as big as a redwood (based on earlier provided photo's)

But in the end, back to where I started, most people will use the trees for a reference of scale, most people are used to big trees being slightly bigger than an Atlas, most people will get a completely wrong feeling of scale on the new Forest Colony (just as wrong as the old one, where the trees were too small). In my opinion the scaling of Forest Colony is just as far of as it used to be, just on the other end of the scale.

Hi guys, it seems with this patch, I now get rewards for other things. Is there a list somewhere with all the actions and how much XP and $$ you get for each action? I didnt see it in patch notes.

A reference to scale on planet Earth. Perhaps in a carbon dioxide rich environment where plant life is similar to Earth, tress could get enormous feeding off the carbon dioxide. Earth used to have huge Dinosaours, but over time they died out because the Earth could not support them. But in our current frame of reference of what Earth can and cant do and what kind of life it can and cant support, it does not make sense that giant Dinosaurs roamed the earth.

I for one like the fact that we are, at times, playing in environments that are unlike earth. Its almost as if in this world of Battletech, humanity a spread across the galaxy and lives and fights in places unlike earth.

I get you want to fight on earth. Thats cool for you. Not me.

Bring on the crazy environments.

It is NOT FORBIDEN to hide and power down, as long as you still participate in the game ;)

As soon as you QUIT after hiding and powering down, it is NOT PARTICIPATING in the game ...
BUT if you want to hide and power down in a 1 vs 11 or worse game this is allowed,
especially if you power up and fight when they find you.

I have any right to play the game as long as I want, without TRAITORS giving my coordinates to the enemy

Going OUT OF BONDS and using OVERHEAT are also legit actions to deal with overwhelming odds ... if you dont like this game mechanics, STOP PLAYING MWO!

You do realise that it's impossible to win when you're the only one left and you choose not to fight? If you're the last one left and you hide and power down, the enemy will still win when the timer ends if they have more than 1 player left, and it'll simply draw if it's even. Suicide of any kind also just hands the game to the enemy. So they are not "legit" ways of coping with end-game situations as nothing you mention can contribute to winning the match. At least if you fight you have a chance to be a hero for your whole team.

And you better expect everyone to give your co-ordinates out. You have the 'right' to play however you want, however, everyone else has the 'right' to make their game more enjoyable. And that includes ruining your cowardly behaviour to turn a potential 15 minute match into a 6 minute match. All it does it irritates people who like to use the same mech several matches in a row. Which is most people.

Congrats to the PGI Devs for the latest patch. It´s been one of the best, if not the best I´ve seen. The new Forest Colony map is so well done I don´t even care that much about the good old tunnel and its strategies from previous versions. Kind of I miss a little the old Forest Colony Snow map, since it used to contain a different type of forest. New matchmaking system, awesome, certainly needed. Among other things, I really like the new team damage display, so people can learn to be more careful and try to lower the damage done to their own group. Really good changes, and the evaluators here and anywhere will leave enough for more to come. :)

Promising changes. Really good they take other factors into consideration besides damage, assists and kills, finally tose who excels in scouting get their well deserved rewards. Cant wait to test it out.

The UI fix are awesome.

The new map is awesome too, but it's heat vision city unless you fight on the beach. It's Bog all over again, great artwork but dont get to see it outside black n white.

Removing elo in favor of match score was a great decision, just took too long to happen.

I see the will to make the game better more and more and im happy about that.

^ This guys got it right.

Even in a light I'd be waiting 7mins for a match plus the 3min prematch kerfuffle. I'd just like a throw me anywhere option because random is just as good as elo as its the wait between games compounds the frustration of a previous bad game esp went you only have an hour to play.

Or if you really need something non random. Dynamically BV players based on real time chassis and weapon popularity in the queue. That would remove push into meta.

FOREST COLONY, yet another map that low-end users can't play. Like Frozen City, Viridian Bog, and the Mining Collective, you've now turned what use to be a playable map into another FPS-SUCKING SUCCUBUS! Since you either will not or are not able to fix the performance issues for low end machines, will you at least give us the option to SELECT OUR OWN MAPS?

Thank You,
Faithful but Frustrated Mechwarrior player

I must to say a big "THANK YOU PGI" !!!

I did take some time - at least 2 years now - but now it's done !

I can use the Mech Lab again, without any anger !

Now I can spend money again for MWO !
Great !

the new system is very good but I just tested with several game:
I feel that the heavy mechs are much penalized because he moves very slowly (direwolf 54mph), their main quality is the power at the expense of the rest and costs dearest.
In the end 800 damages to 80,000 cbill , this is not very fair :/

Great features, great patch BUT:
1)"Forest colony" so not a "Forest colony" anymore, its a new, good map but its not a"Forest colony"... Give us old map back, save this new as other.
2)PSR is good but there are just a few "minor" things to think about:

a)are 700 dmg DWF the same thing as 700 dmg LCT?..

b)when im rushing into enemy team to brek ther lines and seed fear and panic into ther order its a suiside, yea, but it gives my team a great tactical advanatge - while whole enemy team focusing my single mech my allies are able to deal much more damage then i'll take sametime... but it gives no points (do not count "brawling" since its not the same thing) for me!.. is it ok?..

c)20 dmg done with ac20 is the same thing as 20 dmg done with LRM20?... RLY!?...

Please don't release player rankings, I don't want to turn community interactions into an even bigger epeen contest.
