Without any of them even knowing where they rank on the new tier system.

Ahh... IraqiWalker is well read!
Thank you XD. It's a book I truly enjoy (I honestly got into it at first because I heard some of the Arabic words in it.)

It's still better than using Elo.

Less 12-0 stomps can only be a good thing. Players at similar skill levels should always be able to kill an enemy mech or two, no matter how good one sides tactics are.
I'd love to allow players to view their tier. It would put to rest many of the players who claim to know everything, yet suck horribly at the game. I personally won't be surprised if I'm only in the 2nd tier, but I stopped caring about being good at this game months ago.

Game knowledge != pilot skill.
Absolutely. I know an insane amount about the game's mechanics, how to best build mechs, and even some great piloting advice. That doesn't mean I'm top level. Not even close, because I don't have the skill to best utilize most of that stuff.

Ive never seen a roll happen, where one side didnt have good meta mechs, while the out side had crap mechs. At least not in solo queue.
Generally when I see the assault lance is a trial banshee, two victors and an awesome, and theres a quickdraw, or a bad dragon, or an ice ferret, or any of the plethora of crappy mechs making up a team, and one lone Firestarter with his 1500 MC worth of camo, just dying on the inside, I know the roll is imminent.

Sometimes it's actually because one side is good. Good players know how to capitalize on mistakes, and advantages faster, and better than bad players.
12-11 matches are usually the ones where both teams made a lot of mistakes, and the team with the fewer mistakes won.

The 12-1 12-0 stomps. Its almost always because the match maker put trials, noobs, bad mechs, and pure salt on one team, and Wubshees, Whales, Timbers, Doomcrows and such on the other.
I guess thats good players too. Since generally the good players arent going to take out crappy mechs.
I cant tell you what a Vindicator is like...because I would rather stab myself in the eyeball.
So I guess theres that.
But still, the people in the crappy mechs, with the crappy builds...thats the issue. Ive played over 5,000 matches of this game. Ive died first, fast, more than a few times. It happens to the best of us. When I sit there and watch people play these insanely bad builds, it just kills me a little on the inside. When I see founders do it...and its not Bishop. I want to ragevomit.

I think my point is that people can know everything there is to know, but not how to put it into practice.
Being good requires more than just twitch skill; it requires discipline, and lots of it. People have a better point if they can back their words with actions.
I know I'm definitely lacking in both, but I do have a decent idea of current balance in this game. Stats can tell you a lot, but they can't tell you how bad some weapons and mechs are in actual practice. I value experience greatly.

To keep my PSR low, so I can keep killing noobs, im going to change that up to shooting CTs that are already damaged. No more solo kill, most damage dealt for me.
Im going to stay where the fish are biting. You guys enjoy your top "dont earn you anymore cbills dont win nothing" tier and fighting over scraps with each other.
