I suspect the new scoring system is to bring Public game scores in line with CW scoring.
As for Match Making, I have to wait and see, I suspect I will be starting at default tier 4.5 since I haven't played many matches since January.

5 matches, all stomps (4 losses, 1 win). Also, c-bill earnings seem to be down about 20%?

Dependence on total damage is so high atm that your tactics literally have no effect. Example, why waste money on a consumable that generates less points in targeting/counter ECM than effectively 2 volleys from a medium mech? How is flanking 1-5 times (1-5pts) really effective if you do 100+ damage in a light on a suicide run? Not even sure what a TK will get ya now - since its based on total pts of damage it seems we can now TK lights for fun and sport? Seriously, you gotta rethink how you approach ranking if you want to incentivize playing the roles you want in the game.

And - I know I'm up earl(5am est) - but ffs 10min wait times is a little silly. When I do get a game, its either a stomp (2/3 of the time) or something reasonably close.

10 of 11 total stomps 2-12, 3-12, teams totaly unbalanced all the time so far.

From my super awesome sample size of 2 games they went well, first game was a 7 - 12 loss that could have gone either way, and then a 12 - 2 win which was a lot closer than it appeared score wise if you looked at mech HP percentages.

More importantly it seemed like almost everyone had a clue vs previous PUGs. By that I mean people actually supported the assaults, formed firing lines, and pushed the enemy when it presented itself.

Overall great games, but that could have been a fluke.

Did some more drops later and all in all much more consistent and higher skill levels on both teams, so wherever I am it seems to be working quite nicely. Some brackets may be very inhomogeneous, perhaps those brackets will need some more time before they reach an equilibrium.

No difference in skill level, IMO. Still meeting familiar names, though I do not know most of these clan tags.

Made six matches, result 1:5. From how the matches went i conclude that i was placed in a tier below my personal skill. No familiar names, carry harder got worse. It's been a long time ago i actually ran out of ammo on my 4G on a regular basis, usually either my AC20 was destroyed or i was dead before that happened, but now i run havok. First match 6:12, did over 600 damage without arti strike, and i only carry 3t ammo. Ended that match with 3 kills 1 assist, all registered as solo kills and the assist was most damage dealt, still not enough. Carry harder.

Oh well. On the bright side my PSR will rise anyway now despite loss so unlike ELO hell there is hope for escape.

As far as the new system, according to the patch notes PGI has data going back to January 2015, which is what they used to build the system.

Having said that, I too am seeing a lot of inconsistency. Also in the patch notes they state that under the new system it will be impossible for the highest level players to be matched with or against the lowest level. Time will tell.

The search times in the afternoon for european timezones are infinite. Me and a buddy (2 men group) have been searching for over half an hour and have yet to find to game.

Update: i see a way longer queue time. specially in crows and crabs...was about to have 2 games after lunch before going back to work. had 50mins, 20mins queue, 1 game, 25min queue, cancel, shutdown.

Roughly the same, though last night quite a lot more players were playing with the notion that their performance actually mattered.

Mine have been much closer, and much more... ferocious. There have been stomps, but they have been earned stomps.

I'm enjoying it so far, but i've only got 10 or 15 matches in it. Another hundred or so and i might feel comfortable forming an opinion.

Matches seem a lot more intense and focused on both sides. Wins and loses but overall higher match quality. I like it so far.

Better Match Quality.
No Stomp in about 15 Games. SoloQ.
Matches last longer and are more intense.

Really funny moments in the new Forest Colony.
Less LRM Boats, more Gauss/PPC Mechs.
