The only Not Fun thing in this game is the idiot who dies and then blames his team, or the guy who looks at a 12-6 loss and calls everyone he just played with crap. How much worse is this going to get when we see tiers, and the inevitable avalanche of horridness that comes from it?

These types of "people" are going to be idiots anyway. I see them mostly in PUG games, but thankfully not very often. I just ignore them...for the most part. (Ever notice how they usually have among the lowest scores themselves.) And if they are overly abusive, or start shooting or killing team members they can be reported.

Being miserable is their problem. Don't let it be yours. Just ignore them. :)

Hi,

though i sometimes would like to show that i am not that bad, maybe some think that i am a poser.

Therefor i voted for the OPT-in.

Seeing PSR in the MATCH, may week some players who actualy are good.

So PSR only visible in forums, is my opinion. On the battlefield psr must show it in game play!

regards

At risk of coming across as a Troll...

Guess I'll open with I suck at this game..period!... That said I'll follow with in my opinion the Political Correctness has indeed gotten out of hand.. All i have read from people about public ratings is people who are afraid "Someone will make fun of them"... OMG... buckle up, grab the bib, grow a backbone and kick the sand out of your.... Seriously people.. names only have as much power as ya give them, please please, It will be OK, I promise. If someone says something about the Tier you are in then ignore it...for the sake of the world and perhaps the country of the U.S. of A, People need to get some thicker skin!, I played on EQ2 Nagafen pvp server, the MOST disgustingly rude chat community in gaming today.( makes the barrens from WoW look like candy land) and I survived, as did EVERYONE else. The problem with the world ( as I also tell my children) is that no one takes ANY personal responsibility... By definition that included stupid ranks in a game, If you cant own a skill level in a game how can you NOT be part of the problem at large? Public ranks will NOT hurt you, people may "troll" you... Ignore them ffs.. People gonna be hating, always have always will, EVOLVE! it LITERALLY only has as much power as YOU let it have..Besides... worst case ya get a big 'ol TIER 5 tag and get to come hang out with me =).

Does anyone here actually THINK we have a choice, this poll is a farce.

They'll just do whatever the PGI gods feel like on the day, add whichever speed the wind is blowing, multiplied what breakfast cereal gave them flatulence barcode numbers and the current degrees temperature.

OPT in
OPT out, who cares.

I reckon if you OPT out, you are always in LVL 5.... casual pool.
if you OPT in, your ranked and pitted against the HARDCORE.

If you publicly display tiers noobs and those of lower rank will be hunted down for quick easy kills thus driving even more players out of MWO. If you want to see your own skill level and use it for an improvement yardstick tha's fine, but no one else needs to see it. We have enough penis measuring going on in this game already.

Instead of condoning the lack of backbone and sympathizing with " Him called me a name", encourage people to ignoring it!, all you do by agreeing with how bad people are and act you are giving them the power, IGNORE IT!! use the spine Darwin or God gave you ( your choice). as far as people "targeting poorer players" no worse than when i see BEEF or a few others and we ALL gang up on them and i don't hear people like BEEF crying when he scores a 22 cause every one ro-sham-bo'd him. Besides... that's why they said they are not gonna mix Tiers to deep.

Transparency is always great, go 100% full public view, in my opinion.

People with things to hide skeeve me out.

I think it should be full disclosure. I also think that at the beginning of the match the average player ability should be displayed for both sides. Thus people can stop bitching about the matchmaker and realize some games will be a roll and some will be close. I also realize that the matchmaker has to find a match. If you get too specific how to match players eventually it gets hard for the matchmaker to get a match together because of "constraints on fairness" not being available within the player base at any given time.

Your skill is your skill. You have it or you don't.

Branding weaker players is never a good idea in any community.

Opt-in is the only answer.

In my defense, there’s a reason we don't have anacondas in Norway, heat loss. Way to cold.
But we have smaller and faster snakes... And it's all about cubic per hour anyways...

I'm quite sure that if someone hiding their T1 rating is constantly having their ideas shot down and repeatedly called a scrub, ego will eventually kick it. :o

Sorry, Im trying to understand how your point works into what was being discussed. i see what your saying, but how does that related to the discussion point?

I vote for opt-in. I like to compare ELO and whatnot off more popular competitive games like Counterstrike Global Offensive.

In counterstrike, ranks appear at the end of the round rather than the entire game. I feel like this is how it should be in MWO as well.

However since MWO is more of a casual game, people who feel proud to display their tier have the option to do so. Those who oppose showing their rank have the option not to.

ofc, some cheaters with T1 will vote for have it hidden... thats common for them.

And here we f*&#$ng go already.

So, if you voted to have it hidden, your in the same group as cheaters. Is that exclusive to T1 people? Public your OK, your not a cheat if it is public. But if you have it hidden, you could be a cheater!

See, it is this kinda BS that is the reason why "people" cannot be trusted with this information, at all.

What is the next bat crap crazy thing you will say next? Your PSR has to be public so YOU can screen who can join YOUR groups. If not public and up to your standards, kick!

PSR should ONLY be displayed to the pilot and if he wants to share it, his choice.

You and Death Proof were talking about why someone will or will not display their tier. My comment is just a continuation of that, but with a highly specific case.

Snickers are for scrubs who can't afford the good stuff made by a chocolatier and as such buy mass-produced junk.

So your saying a Tier 1 would hide their Tier Because? And then want to show it off if people talk junk about them?

My point was about people who want to hide it because they were saying they were better then they were. In the end I think it should be the option of the player, and those who would typically hide it are people who are saying they are higher then they really are and hide behind that. A Tier 1 player really does not have anything to hide, execpt if they want to be humble.

I would refer to XVM and World of Tanks, where some players who have the Statistics enabled see their team skill and '% chance to win' and often either hound the less skilled players for being bad or in extreme cases just either suiciding or disconnecting. Though I will say the MWO community is nowhere near as toxic as the WoT one.
