How incredibly unfortunate.

Oh well. It was nice while it lasted. Suppose we'll see how long the forums last when only T2+ gets to actually post on them.

what will happen with full disclosure is what happens with world of tanks, ass hats screaming you all suck and disconnecting before the game has even started.

so one down pretty much assures you lose, though it is extra sweet when the sucking people hand the other team their backsides

Exactly.

But most of these members called the 'Community' don't realise how much it will break the game. Such a shame though.. Looks like most of them have no clue.

More concerned that have so much bragg talking about tiers already. It's not even funny anymore. It's not even decided or out yet.

I believe mandatory public tiers will single out new and lower-skilled players, making the game (potentially) much less enjoyable for people entering the game or struggling with the learning curve. I remember my first few matches I was TERRIBLE, and there were a few players who let me know in no uncertain terms. If everyone could have seen my stats right off the bat how much more flak would I have received from better players? Would I have even enjoyed the game enough to push though the curve or just written the game off as a poisoned community? Food for thought...

What I think could be useful would be a settings option to decide WHO saw your PSR, such as your friends or unit. That could be a great tool for learning from higher rated players you trust as well as commanders setting teams / lances up in CW and the like...

If you display tiers in client, they should be after the game is completed attached to the name if you must show name/tier attachment. Otherwise show a list of how many players from each tier are on each team... again, after the match.

People are going to do this anway though. In fact, I am certain some do it because of past performances of players that they attach to the names they see. "oh it's that guy. we lost. Tier 5 confirmed!" >disconnect<

I try not to be a **** to people who are clearly new. However, if you are spouting **** and being bossy and commanding and you suck? Yeah, I'm likely to call you on it.

Sometimes its tough to phrase things nicely for newbies though. I had to explain to a teammate that standing on the other side of the river from the citadel and shooting at people on the line behind the citadel with medium lasers wasn't going to work. Didn't want to single him out, but I also didn't want him sitting back there not hitting anything.

im suprised sooo many people are making a fuss about this, most of the time players will only be facing players of the same tier give or take a level, so you never wil really get to wave your e-peni around anyways. Unless your grouped up your not going to see huge variences

As far as the forums. Everyone is free to say what they want here...within reason. So everyone can put in their 2cent worth. Haters will be haters and trollers will troll. Same as always. Just ignore them. If someone is being a total ****, does what they say really matter to you?

People say this, and I agree in part.

Of course I'm not really affected by an anonymous person on the Internet being an a-hole. But that doesn't mean that I like to be in a place filled with e-peen stroking and elitism. It's not that I'm in hurt in any significant degree, but I won't spend my spare time in an unpleasant environment either.

Anyway, I'm not saying that it'll get that bad here -- the jury's still out. Maybe the fact that we're kind of old will help (at late 30s I oftentimes I feel like I'm on the young side here).

I hear World of Tanks is pretty awful, but all I know about WoT is that a TV ad I saw looked like it was targeting pre-teens.

Might have already been said, but another idea is to list a set of numbers, being the percentage breakup of time a member has spent in each tier. This way if your really low on the top tier and feel bad about it, you can just say you've been playing so long the lower tier is a statistical anomaly - not representative of my current superskillz!

That's if tiers are going to be displayed IN-GAME. Which we still aren't sure will happen. What we do know is that they will be displayed on the forums, for sure.

Please do so quickly, I want to make sure I am back down to T5, finally out of ELO hell.

There is a certain irony - people who are anonymous on the internet wanting "full disclosure" of other people's stats.

How about "people who grief others over their stats must disclose their home address" ;)

You should see the level of pilots on your team... The enemy team should be revealed after the match,

I do not see the point of even viewing a teamates PSR. What would that accomplish? Everyone else on the team should be close to the same Tier as you are, that is the whole point of the PSR.

If there are twelve Tier 1 players on a team, most will probably play however they normally play...unless one is able to persude the others to follow orders. The same player is probably not the best pilot and the best tactical strategist rolled into one. Even if they are, why would the team listen to them over the other pilot with a Tier 1 ranking?

I think it's because people think Tiers will be shown in-game. When it's probably never gonna happen, and they will only be shown on the forums.

I still think it would be useful to see what tier people are in the mechlab lobby. So everyone knows what they are getting into when they invite people, or join a group for drops.

And by the way, being in a lower tier doesn't necessarily mean someone is a lesser player than someone in a higher tier. Some people are naturally good at it, and some may have started a new account and already have a lot of experience in MWO. Or you may get a person who sucks at piloting most mechs or classes, but excels at using a certain mech or class of mech. So it's best not to get too over confident when dealing with lower tiers. ;)

The same could be said for higher tiers. Someone may be super at using a few mechs and use them most of the time. But totally suck at using other mechs.

The tiers are more of a guideline of what to expect.
