seldom seeing you walking around telling people you are tier 1. Those who play, know. That's the thing.... the REALLY good players, they don't need to tell everyone how good they are (aside from some who apparently had issues with mommy not loving them enough)

Without knowing any details about how PSR is calculated or how tiers are divided (bell curve or equal pie slices), I'm keeping my mouth shut! I just focus on doing my best and let the ranking put me wherever I ought to be. I think a lot of people are going to look silly when these numbers come out.

But you're one of the guys that ends up on the chassis boards too, so you have little to worry about.

bads will be bad....I'd rather have a free damage item actually be harder to use

This isnt COD, why do we even need air strikes?

If you arent, then you are trying hard enough.

Tier 1: I have the best computer, the best internet connection and have spent a lot of time and money on the game. I play it every day because I either have no life or I am married and would rather not spend time with my wife and kids. This game is my primary hobby and as with any hobby the more you play the better you get. In some cases my entire life-worth is hinged on my performance in this game and so I may do anything to stay at the top.
Tier 2: I have a decent computer and internet connection and I am either fairly good at video games and don't try to hard or I am dying to get to tier 1 and will do anything to get there even though I don't have the skills. I either have lots of things that I like to do besides video games and I don't spend as much time practicing as I should or I play a lot and just don't seem to improve. I do spend money on the game but not a whole lot in the great scheme of things.
Tier 3: I have an ok computer and internet connection but the game really can bog down. I love to play the game and I am ok at it but it's never been about the competition -- its always about the fun. I will drop in 6MG nova or 7 flamer firestarter if I want a laugh and can sometimes make them work. While I do want to win or at the very least have an awesome game I am not going to go on a rant fest if some lower tier is only using their LRMs below 180 M -- its just a game.
Tier 4: I really shouldn't play this game with my computer, or I just started and only have trial mechs to use. I am here to either have fun and to learn and I would appriciate some locks for my LRMs from time to time because its hard to aim direct fire weapons when your computer drops to 5 FPS. If I shoot you -- I am sorry but I will be to afraid to admit that it was me who shot you. With me you get out of me what you put in so either give me directions or dont cry when i walk right into the middle of the enemy and die.
Tier 5: Wow this game is super hard on my TRS-80 4-bit colour. I just can't seem to get my joystick to have the same performance of the other players' and I don't know how they expect me to pick out a cockpit on this 10 inch monitor. I have a hard enough time managing the force feed-back on my joystick to be able to actually hear you when you are giving me instructions. Also I can't really see the grid marks on my map so telling me to go to a gird is useless. Can I have a lock and can you hold it for a long time please?
you mean this?

Being consistently bad? Working hard at being bad is a sad state of affairs. It's one thing to be bad.. it's another to work hard at it..

Yeah, the fact I've been nearly exclusively using Lights lately, and avoiding UAVs since their inception (because CoolShots and Arty) could significantly affect my ranking, if they value UAVs strongly.
And a Light, natually, can't shoot things as effectively as larger robots.
Oh well, it's a fun Gundam.

Arties don't really have a maximum range. 3KM out, they still work (complete with 35 PP FLD that can instagib heads rarely, or easily blow Gauss rifles out from rear torsi).
Range Finder goes ∞ at 2500, but arty still works beyond that.

This is true, but how many times have you ever dropped an arty beyond 2km lol.

I play a lot. I mean a lot, like 6-7 hours a day some days. I go on spurts where I have horrible games, and other times I have great games. I sit at about a 1.0 kdr and at about almost dead even 50/50 W/L record. I play against some of the forum warriors here. I'm dreadfully average. And it doesn't bother me. The good games do not make me a good player. Bad games do not make me a bad. I am what I am and so be it. Will seeing my PSR make me want to improve? Probably a tiny little bit, but not enough to make me care what people think of me. I'd be happy being part of the underhive if thats where I end up and people can shame me all they want. Same thing If I'm T1. Shame away. You'll just be wasting your energy.
I feel like I wrote this. Well said, could not agree more.

Mogs
A) DMG and KILLS =/= skill and experience and..
BEE) (*** that smiley code) why the hell do you care so much about their claims, or tiers? Why does ANYone care so much about this tier BS? It is beginning to feel like a League of Legends playground.
The only use for those tiers, imo, is matchmaking/balancing.

Meh i actually want to end up in low tier. Games for me now are just loss, loss, loss, loss, and some more loss with added ****.
And hopefully that low tier will have lots of aggressive play cos what i'm getting 24/7 atm is camping. All the camping all the time. Nothing but the camping.
