The thing for me, I know I'm not Tier 1, I rarely run the meta, yet in the group Queue, We've gone against Tier 1 groups. How far down do they match up against do we know? I would put myself in Tier 3 or lower Tier 3 but then again, I'll get my share of games where I barely do damage either due to it being a roll or just not getting to the fight quick enough. I'd be curious to know what the actual formula is.

Ironic I saw this just after our match lol. Yeah I'm just kinda done bringing Gauss Vomit Crows, Timbers... Time to dust off the locusts/Kit foxes etc lol.

Also something I noticed they said they brought scouting back..... I'm not so sure. I was narcing the hell out of mechs with substantial lrm support and I think I ended up with a match score of 120 something. You still need to be doing sizable damage even after all the spots.

at this point the PSR may help. Because winning is essential to rank up, and scoring well is too. It may make people less of egoists andmore winning driven which includes the necessary teamplay. Gimping your team for egoistic reaosns will in best case constantly keep your level and only raise if you do exceptional well. So hiding for tier stroking will not be a good options, its like defending in CW, sooner or later you lose much wiht a lwo chance of gaining something

You don't have to win to inflate or deflate the psr though. I am not sure why people are saying that players are going to want to all of a sudden play for the greater good of the team when that matters even less now.

All you have to do is score low or high to gain/lose psr. You and a buddy can just carry a game, or chill if it's going to be a stomp and famr kill steals then shoot each others arms/ legs off and lose a load of match score to keep your scores down to pad kdr/wins in a lower tier. And so on.

Except there's no point to doing any of that. I'm not sure why people are thinking PSR is all of sudden going to make people want to throw games or pad stats.

because most poeple will and want to increase their epeen, and for this if you look at the chart of what ups and downs you PSR winnign is an essential key part to keep, upgrade or massively upgrade your epeen.

the chance to inflate your epeen is unlikely if you lose, because oyu have to do "exceptional well" whatever thhis means in numbers.

because it is an official epeen measuremeant, and so many will.

I'll be brutaly honest here.I couldn't give a monkeys what tier i'm on.I really couldn't.As long as I'm enjoying the game I will keep playing. When it gets to the stage I'm more bothered by stats/tiers it's time to quit.

T1 also does not mean never having a bad match at all. So until you find a T1 claimer constantly failing your claims are invalid.

I only saw this dude in two matches. Both times he was at the bottom or the barrel..

We can easily disprove someone is in Tier 1.

Simply tank your ranks by doing horrible in matches. (go buy a new under performing mech and go level it)

Get down to tier 5, and when you still see those "Tier 1" players in your matches you have proof.

They said a tier 5 would never see a tier 1 right? That is pretty much the only certainty we have right now about the new system.

But but, how will you know for sure you are in tier 5, you could only be at the start of tier 4, until you are given an EXACT quote from PGI, everything you are estimating is subjectively biased on your own perceptions.

How can anyone claim they are any tier? It is a hidden value.

Game knowledge and ability are two totally different things.

That has more to do with the inherent issues with arties.

The point he was making is that random events in MWO, particularly things like headshots and arty, can easily take out even the best players before they get a chance to contribute anything in a particular match. As a result, looking at a poor performance in a few end of game screenshots really doesn't say much about that player's capability.

In fact, stomps will likely happen at any level, and I am willing to bet that there are screen shots of pure tier 1 matches where some folks contributed little or nothing .. if only because they walked around a corner into four opposing mechs and couldn't get out in time.

Rode with you a few times. Even had you call me a beast in that dual uac5 stormcrow (or was it a maddog) that I was running when I I ran a rare successful flank and got in their rear. Still don't think I'm tier 1

Oh I am certain there are people out there who want to throw games or pad stats to put them in different tiers. However, I think these people will ultimately fail at it in the long run. If you're a tier 1 player and you suicide for a week down to tier 5. You will have to continuously throw games to keep yourself at that level. The week you start playing for real you're just going to bounce right back to where you belong. Frankly it would require a hell of a lot of effort just so you can stomp noobs for a handful of matches.
