The opening music was great. Why didn't they use it in the final game?

I love that vid.

Yeah that whole thing is solid, they should dig through their archives and put it in :D

This game lacks proper music - even ingame. They stated "multi player games have never music" that is rather wrong and I'd love to have an option to decide for myself. Since I like music while playing I had to turn off all ingame music.

PGI has many different music tracks now, I think. You hear them in their trailers, their weekly preview videos, etc.

They just decided we don't want music in the actual game. <shrug>

every time i see that vid i cant help but think "god if that noob hadnt missed with 3 ppc shots he might have won that"

also there is no saying the PGI fully owned the rights to that music it coulda been a one use only thing.

Personally I'd love to see more music in game. Though there should be an option to turn it off. I only say this because there is a high demand for music tracks from the player base. Which of course means that once PGI implements it, we aren't going to want it anymore and complain.

We are nothing if not consistent.

THAT is what an Atlas ought to be. I love that paint job, and an Atlas ought to be the scariest mech on the battlefield, able to take punishment no other mech can.

Yep. To offset the Atlases other weaknesses it should have improved durability.

For me it's the music in the Atlas Drop from that other vid. I so wish the drop were like that with animation and rock music.

This would have been the worst MW game ever, if that trailer were translated into gameplay. I don't get why people want it so bad.

Mechs made out of paper? Check. Moving at 30KPH for no apparent reason? Check. So exciting. Blech.

It's a sweet little cinematic, but actually playing that game would be the most frustrating experience of all time.

Or a more to the point title, "What happened to this Game and why was it never made?".

R.I.P. Single Player campaign and badass Atlas.

im not going to start an argument cause is been a long time since then...and im kindfa tired for that but i am going to point out a few things.

-story driven campaign
-looked better
-partial enviromental destruction
-mech behaved more like battletech (you ask why 30kph i ask why 90kph)
-more tactical (take down the building to take down the mech standing on it)
-in general more epicness (comms chatter, the feeling of actually taking part in a larger conflict part of a battletech story)
-that trailer described a fight on the edge bitting your nails waititng to see what happens. if you put that same fight in MWO it would have been over in about 20secs.

need i say more..? im not bashing MWO..it is what it is..but please dont ask why people want that game

Which is what the Founders program was based off; no big company wanted to kickstart the single player version.

Not sure how prevalent KickStarter itself (and crowdfunding) was back then.
