No, they don't. I envy that cool stuff as much as the next guy, but people wouldn't spend so much money on it if it was available any cheaper way. That stuff is what allows/causes the whales to spend so much money on this game, and while those whales may not be a make/break part of the customer base, I'm certain they're a significant portion of the revenue, which means I don't want them to stop spending money on this game.
"Whales."
This may seem pedantic, but a "whale" in a microtransaction profit model refers more to someone who will pay a lot of money for game advantages (a LOT of phone games are like this,) and has a strong negative connotation. The term is derived from a similarly disdainful usage by gambling establishments: there, it denotes an unskilled, but wealthy gambler who will drop massive amounts of money simply for the excitement of the game. These gamblers will often be treated to special perks, much like the whales in games like Force Arena or Heroes' Charge will pay crazy amounts for insurmountable advantages over honest players. As you may be able to tell, people hate playing against whales. The term can also refer to people who just buy shiny things, but that's not its primary usage.
My objection the term, aside from the fact that it's a bit insulting, is that it belongs to a pay-to-win microtransaction scheme which is not being used by MWO. MWO is pay-to-skip, and pay-for-shiny - which is what microtransaction models should be.
