I did a search for but couldn't find it. I see this **/** that represents running and walking speeds on the table top.

Does anyone have chart or something that shows how fast 10/15 is for example if you put it into a game like MW 3 or 4?

Whilst I've never played the tabletop version... Are you comparing real-time speed to turnbased?..

Yes. It's hard to make the comparison. Right now i try finding a mech with the same weight class and engine on Sarna to make the comparison.

Never played the table top but I *believe* each hex was thirty meters. At least that's what I've seen thrown around on the forums here.

Edit

And wow, according to the post below I was WAY off.

1 MP is roughly equal to 3 meters per second, or 10.8 km/hour.

2 MP = 21.6 km/hr
3 = 32.4
4 = 43.2
5 = 54
6 = 64.8
7 = 75.6
8 = 86.4
9 = 97.2
10 = 108
11 = 118.8
12 = 129.6
13 = 140.4
14 = 151.2
15 = 162
16 = 172.8
17 = 183.6
18 = 194.4
19 = 205.2
20 = 216
21 = 226.8
22 = 237.6
23 = 248.4
24 = 259.2
25 = 270
26 = 280.8
27 = 291.6
28 = 302.4

15 ton, 15/23 'Mech with MASC. I forget what its MP is with a supercharger, but we used to call it the "Bat Out of Hell" and it could destroy an Atlas by charging.

also, fear the high end hover craft or hydro foil in TT. from what i vaguely remeber on a CBT discussion was that hydro foils were the fastest non-aerospace thing that could be made

aerospace fighters really move, aerotech hexes are 500m across i believe

Just for reference, I believe this is the fastest 'Mech that's possible using the current rules (while still having armor). 50 MP using supercharger and MASC. 540 kph!

Spoiler

Table Top speed work as follows from my reading of these forums and what I have read on Sarna : X/Y/Z

X = cruising (walking) speed
Y = running (Max) speed
Z = Jumping Distance (if Jump Jets are equipped)

Everything in Table Top refers to how many hexes a mech moves per turn. Thus, an Atlas with a 3/5 engine could walk 3 hexes or run 5 hexes per turn.

To convert Table Top speeds into the mech warrior games use the following formula, it is *not* exact, but is good for finding a close approximation :

Engine rating / Mech Tonnage * 10.8 = Walking speed in Km/H

or

Engine rating / Mech Tonnage * 10.8 * 1.5 = Running speed in Km/H

Using a Jenner as an example, we see it has a 245 engine rating and is a 35 ton mech. Thus, 245 / 35 * 16.2 = 113.4 Km/H. Sarna lists it as going 118.8 Km/H.

Again, this is not exact, but close enough that you should have a good idea on how to calculate mech speeds.

Edit: Posted at the same time as a few other and just saw this:

Quote

1 MP is roughly equal to 3 meters per second, or 10.8 km/hour.

2 MP = 21.6 km/hr
3 = 32.4
4 = 43.2
5 = 54
6 = 64.8
7 = 75.6
8 = 86.4
9 = 97.2
10 = 108
11 = 118.8
12 = 129.6
13 = 140.4
14 = 151.2
15 = 162
16 = 172.8
17 = 183.6
18 = 194.4
19 = 205.2
20 = 216
21 = 226.8
22 = 237.6
23 = 248.4
24 = 259.2
25 = 270
26 = 280.8
27 = 291.6
28 = 302.4
29 = 313.2
30 = 324

That would be where these numbers come from :D

Tech readout says a Jenner travels 118 kph. Being a 5/8/5/ mech I, believe, I think that speed chart is incorrect. The first one, that is.

A TT turn = ten seconds of RL time; a hex = 30 meters.

3/5/3 = 3 hexs walking, 5 hexes running, and 3 hexes jump capability.

That's all you need to be able to convert the stuff.

So simple a caveman can figure it out. LOL. I need to check my facts before I post.

The fastest you can make in this game based on TT is a commando with 15/23 movement and 248.3 KMH top speed.

In case anyone's interested - I dug of Heavy Metal and played around:

The fastest mech I could make was a 10 ton, no armor, XXL engined with MASC and Engine Supercharger - 48 MP (19/29 (38) [48])

The fastest vehicle was a 5 ton VTOL, no armor, XXL engined with Jet boosters - 88 MP - 950.5 kph (590.6 mph)!

Obviosly both of those were L3 designs.
