Don't You Hate It When You Accidentally Team-Kill?

My lancemate in a Thunderbolt steps in front of me, not realizing I was there, just as I'm firing four Large Lasers. My teamie took my 38-point alpha right in the middle of his back CT (heavily quirked mech, no light saber action here) and went down. I had to run for it to keep the Atlas from doing unto me as I was trying to to to him, while my lasers reset.
I felt awful about that. I even apologized over voicechat. He was cool because he'd done it to me in the previous match (I wasn't aware of that, I thought it was the enemy that backshot me).
Blue-on-blue accidents happen. I get that. But doesn't it suck when you're the shooter even though it's really an accident? I don't think I've ever had an intentional troll on me with this. I've had a couple embarrassing incidents, though, for both parties. In a confused melee, almost anything can happen.

Yeah, I do feel *hitty about them, and especially if I feel I was a bit too careless and might've avoided it. Fortunately, most people do accept your apology.

Best example I was piloting my Jenner F and came across a Raven 3L my friend was playing in a Centurion and we where working together. I literally shot the raven and it died and at the same time a shut down raven 3L died I died. Come to find out my friend's shot went through the raven and killed me because I killed the raven in between us and it went into mode where it no longer acts apart of the game.
I was mad for about a second until I realized what happens ... it has happened to me many times before and I can't blame the friendly mech that shot me through a dead enemy because it was just alive. I can only hope that PGI comes up with a better system that doesn't remove the enemy structure from play so quickly.
Now it does bother me when some one is right behind me preventing me when I am backing up to get back into cover, and it also bugs me when friendly fire happens because people can't control them selves or move out farther so not to shoot team members, and when team killing is intentional. Those do aggravate me and are uncalled for. I have lost many of weapon arms due to friendly mechs behind me as well as having been alpha'd in the back because of 'mis-fire'.

What really pisses me off are the crybabies, who get hit in the back by accident and take their time to turn away from the enemy and try to alpha you (or whoever they think did it), while taking the time to throw hysterical tantrums in team chat.

The squirrel never shot me.
I never moved.
At the end of the lightsaber fight, I was down to 79% health and armor gone on my back.
Dat PUG life.

The pilot always apologizes, and I always tell them not to worry it was my mistake... in chat in case anyone reports them.

I am more annoyed by these little mediums and lights blocking my assaults duck to cover path, which invariably gets me killed, because they COULDN'T BE BOTHERED to use their better maneuverability to go to the outside of mech by 3 whole meters.

I apologized but he took offense and decided to burn me up a bit.

Moral of the story is, don't roam around zoomed in all the time. Check the clearance on those arms.

A friendly jenner decided to JUMP JET INTO THE CLOUD OF SRMS and died. Then started pissing up a storm in chat (in the ending screen it said i had only done 15 friendly damage, which i mean, isn't a lot, but i guess the guy was already cored or something).

First, I don't shoot over an allied mech's shoulder. Second, I don't attempt to shoot around him and "hope I miss". Three, if an allied mech waltzes in front of me while I'm firing I do my best to cease fire or direct fire up/away from him.
Im the guy who types out in team chat "watch friendly fire because it isn't", I seem to do it quite a bit. If I get any red points I usually "grrr" out loud.
To date I have yet to get a team kill. I hope to keep it that way.

The more common one is friendlies crossing your line of fire though. Everyone gets excited, especially towards the end of a match, and forgets to keep track of allies. I hate it when I'm zoomed in and triggering off a round, only to have my vision suddenly obscured by an ally who intercepts my shots.

I did that once with a Dire. It happened so fast that I didn't have time to react; he just darted across my field of fire right as I triggered off my Gauss. Worst part was, he was a new player to the game and a brand new recruit to my Unit. I felt awful.

I see that way too often when spectating. I don't understand it. Removes every bit of peripheral awareness you have.
