Might want to check space on those Gauss.' Just to be sure. ER PPC/PPC no problem with the arms.

2xAC10, 2xERPPC ftw.

Think id rather go with standard PPCs. ERPPCs are way too hot unless you have like 20+ DHS, which you wont due to space issues.

I was certainly hoping they would be dynamic, since im looking forward to the mech and wont ever use missiles on it in any form. (LRMs suck at my tier, i suck with SRMs and SSRM2s are.. well. no). However my point about never having seen dynamic geometry with camo on it still stands.

not exactly dynamic- but different across variants.

There is the catapult K2 to the other catapults, raven 2X to the other ravens. etc...

Those are 2 different templates of skins on the same chassis- same effort can apply to the simple box "with" and "Without" for the mauler OR they have the skin "With" it but when someone has no missiles it just has gunmetal grey where it used to be... which is on some weapons I believe awhile ago... very sleepy as it's late night- can't remember exactly.

quite possible. If it could pack a bigger engine, I'd even go 2xAC10 and 2xLPL. And the 2x AC10 can keep up enough pointblank volume fire to cover the minimum range of the PPCs.

To be honest i think the vast majority of my builds will be very heavy ballistic with shield arms - those chest ports are really not that low, and i think quad UAC5 is going to be utterly brutal on it. If i do use twin peeps (i like PPCs so i might) ill probably get all heretical and put em both in one arm.

Yeah, never been a huge shield arm guy, I like having the ability to track fast targets too much, and I suck at it with torso weapons. (Plus I like being able to aim high or low, too many mountains that limit torso arcs of fire) I figure that even if I lose an arm, or both, it's still better for me while I do have them, and having dual ac10 in the torso after, well, still a pretty vicious amount of firepower.

Proof?

They don't according to Russ and the orthographic drawing on Instagram.

haven't been looking around lately? this was released earlier for battletech this year..
Posted ImageHigh chance of being the next IS pack

bigger question is: what would the heavy be? warhammer or maurader?

this is why we can't have nice things.

They also scream "hey I will kill you at 1000 meters away. nananananaaaaaaa"

R hardpoints? What the hell are those.

You just made my day sir, seriously thank you... Thank you so much :D

now if we could just cut the countdown in half, considering the day before the mauler drops ends a major three day weekend in the United States....would be so nice to have it directly before the long weekend instead of directly after.....

But that would require logic and planning...
I agree though, I'm pretty time poor so it would have been nice to actually get a chance to check out this new death machine.

We will find out for sure in a bit when Bombadil posts a pic of the Mauler with no missiles mounted.

I hope they vanish.

I dont think they will due to the camo on the missile racks and them not being gunmetal grey like every other dynamic missile box.

An orthographic drawing shows that section without any missiles, which I think is more sure fire proof that speculations on the camo method there..

Yeah, I'm thinking ERPPCs and other long-range weapons (other than LRMs) are probably a bad idea on this mech given how low-slung everything is.

My theory crafting for the different loadouts:

1R: 4 AC5s, 2 LPLs (maybe just LLs), AMS, lots of ammo.

MX90: 2 MPLs, 2 LB10xs, 4 MGs? AMS, lots of ammo. Miiiiiight be trickly - maybe run MLs for space/weight. 4 LB10s could be fun.

1P: Maybe keep the AC2s on this one? Of all of them, this one's the most obvious missile boat, though, so let's go with 4 ALRM10s (or 15s), or 4 ASRM4s. MPLs for the arms?

2P: 6 MLs, 2 AC20s, AMS, near max armor - this will be a brawling monster.

Congrats PGI Mech Art Department for pulling off a winner with all your MWO mech designs. If it was not for you and the Map designers MWO would be in terrible trouble.

P.S hey Russ I hope you fix the armor and hitboxes on this mech so its not just a bar of butter weaksauce mech that dies in 1-2 shots or under 60 seconds like all the rest of the mechs in MWO.

To be fair if she's good enough for Captain Zachary Miles Hawkins (Hawk’s Sky Rangers war of 39, 27 mission, 4 field commendations!) , then its good enough for us. :D

Regarding the new Warhammer, Marauder, etc. from the Catalyst expansion coming up, I don't know what they will want to include since so many of the Phoenix mechs are medium/heavy. Rifleman, Archer etc. might all get screwed due to being the same weight class.

Marauder II could get them an assault, but either way I hope that by then PGI could have decals and/or Mercenaries in the game for CW. Would be cool to properly represent for the Dragoons finally :D

I like the long gun barrel arms, thanks for those.

That Resistance geometry though ... not a fan.

And a Hatchetman would finally allow Kai Allard to throw back the invasion at Twycross.

But for the unseen? The Jag is better and five tons heavier than the Rifleman, so I'm okay without the Rifleman. It would be cool to see the Stinger/Wasp/Phoenix Hawk, but they're pretty distinctly Robotech, so I'm okay without them, too.

Marauder, Archer, Longbow, Warhammer are the Unseen I would REALLY want to see. Crusader would be fun, and it would be cool if PGI could figure out the 4-legged mech animations because there's a couple really neat mechs in that category (like the Goliath, Scorpion, and Tarantula).
