Fair enough, of course you keep referencing clan tech, and we are talking about an IS 'Mech... Unless PGI wants to unlock clan weapons on IS 'Mechs like we've seen in previous iterations (although that would be a ways off).

I'd rather see what people do with Large X Pulse Lasers, I love seeing people overheat with constant alpha strikes!

Still doesn't detract from my point that I really want to be able to check this thing out before returning to another week of work! :P

reason why I kept mentioning clan tech is because the ATM and Heavy lasers are other weapons on the same time period.

Did you want me to talk about the Rotary autocannon 5's? or improved medium laser? Maybe the HAG 40 while we're at it.

Thanks for the AC20 pic's Tina, you da 'Bomb'!
90 tonnes of Beautiful destruction! (the Mauler, not you ;) )

Im loving this mech and look forward to piloting it into battle. I know we can find more info on Sarna, but it would be nice for those like myself who are not 'full bottle' on Mech lore to have a small write up on each new mech released.Perhaps some back ground info on its construction, year released, major battles. Rather than just getting a new toy, it would give it some juice to fuel the fire of release.
o7

I actually think I can do this myself >.>
I may need help from people who are more into the journals and reading and maybe a bit into the tabletop awesomeness, but I can easily do the load outs, brief history of each variant and/or alternate configeration (aka omnimech version of variant) and also mention a few easy iconic things about the mechs.

I can also theorise some builds I may do but that would be pointless- most of them would be stock+, stock+ of a future varaint and/or an adaption of it, or stock+ made up variant from MW4 xD

good looking mech, pity the low weapon points will relegate it to " nice but not competitive " position.

In your newly nerfed Cheater? I look forward to killing your Cheater in my Mauler!

called it.

here comes the 40% beam durration increase 20% more heat, and 20% reduction in flamer DPS

Seeing what happened on the timberwolf or stormcrow already and the same patch what happened with the stalker I do not have much faith that PGI will do it correctly. At least hte mechs already got quirks- I still want my MG RoF for my timberwolf or LBX 10 spread reduction on storm crow...

Non LRM build looks nice Also worth noting in this pic.
  • Woodland Camo on the ® variant (so Yes full camo support on all Resistance II ® variant Mechs)
  • Ams Location is cool
  • AC20 in L and R torso = BOOM

The Mauler has everything to become my preferred mech in the whole game.
Lots of ballistics, potential for so many great builds, perfect model size and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Jeez, you can even remove the missile racks.

I like the cgi intro where they show the mauler face off against the atlas when the smoke cleared. This mech got wreched while the atlas just gained battle scars :)

Everything about this mech screams "Classic". It just looks so ... right. It's the same sort of family of mechs as the Awesome just...bigger.

You do NOT want this guy turning to look at you, as the god of Battletech intended.
Those rails on top of the arm weapons just scream "PEE PEE CEEEEEEE" to me.

There's a reason this big brute is called Mauler.

I also like the car door cockpit windows...

If you're talking about the original trailer for pre-MWO "MechWarrior", that was a Warhammer, not a Mauler.

Does it matter? You see none of the resistance 1 mechs on winning IS teams. Their quirks on the whole are terrible. We will see if the resistance 2 is worthwhile.

overall, more unique then the phoenix unique geo, instead of simply making those bumbs bigger or make the arm bigger (which I should add make the hitbox bigger) the resistance added NEW geo besides metal bars and such. This includes spikes, metal plates, etc.

Still feckles plus you're using waay too old concept arts. black knight and crab have changed a lot.
resistance still better visibility in difference.

Yes, they changed a lot when going from standard variant to Resistance II, hence custom geo :D

Enforcer. Zeus.
Two hella good IS 'mechs, usually on IS winning teams when played CORRECTLY. The Boom-Forcer going at 106 or something, the Zeus can tank, move well and still carry enough to out sustain many other assaults.
The Panther and Grasshopper's were the only one which weren't that meta-tacular, but even then, they're fun in small doses.
