However, lore-wise the LRM-20 on the Atlas only has 5 tubes and shoots in 4 salvos.
And that is true in the original Atlas TRO artwork. (Except that the LRMs are on the waist, while the SRM is in the chest, which is the other way around in a lot of other representations)

I NEVER NOTICED THAT!

How have I not known the LRM was on the lower side of the atlas this whole entire time- the most famous assault mech in BT ever.

brb going to go in exile for a few decades...

It was in the fluff of TRO3025. Can't recall off the top of my head if the problem was issues with other LRM systems or if they were just trying to be fancy, but the Atlas's LRM20 was a 5-tube system with an absurdly high rate of fire. From a game mechanics standpoint, it was an LRM20, same tonnage, crits, heat, ammo, etc. But it was a neat piece of fluff that also echoed the game mechanic of LRMs being grouped in clusters of 5 when determining where they hit.

Is there anything as funny as watching a know-it-all attempt to twist the very fabric of reality to avoid everyone seeing they were wrong? :D

God this just nails it, I heard so many "30 year vets" changing their stories this weekend it was surreal. When I saw this post I spit coffee everywhere!

Well played sir!

It's ******** here just as it's ******** in the other thread the poster started just for the purpose of trolling people who for very good reasons said it was highly unlikely we would ever see the unseen in MWO. He's been trying to troll and get a reaction out of people for several pages on that thread, probably in the hope that someone would lose their patience and step over the line of the forum rules in their response to him, thereby getting themselves in trouble. The post has no value and neither does the original thread he has now spread his nonsense out from. Honestly, I've never reported anyone for anything here before, but I'm sorely tempted to do so now, and if it continues I may do just that.

Do you SEE that ballistic mount?

Get a Marauder with 2B in the right torso and you can say hello to the new king of Sphere heavyweight ridge-sniping. Dual AC/5s all day erry day. Not to mention the arms look significantly closer to centerline than the Krab's do. This is concept art of course, so grain of salt and all that...but the Marauder depicted looks surprisingly narrow. Can you imagine a narrow-bodied Marauder with STK-style hitboxes and that RT skyhook ballistic on top of close-converging arms?

This thing will be utterly ridiculous if the modelers do their blasted jobs right.

Just what I was thinking.

It doesn't even need it to be utterly ridiculous, but at least be very competitive.

I think PGI needs to offer the Marauder IIC while its the coals are red hot, hopefully soon or next aftet the IS Marauder, and instead of months down the line when the design loses its novelty.

I think that would work better if the Marauder kicks all the @$$, all December, and then PGI offers the Marauder II or IIC.

However, that means the Marauder has to have favorable hitboxes and good weapon perks.
It can't be a repeat of the Orion and Black Knight, which are pretty much "blah" as far as I can tell.
I mean, some folks like those mechs, but they're 75-ton mechs that are generally outclassed by the 65-ton Thunderbolts.

PGI has the opportunity to make the Marauders as effective as the Thunderbolts.
I hope they don't miss that opportunity.

If they make the Marauders come out lame, I expect paying customers (besides me) to start sharpening their pitchforks and lighting torches.

For me, it was more like:

Sep. 13, 2015...
"I hope HG blah blah blahs so we can have the Unseen."

Sep. 14, 2015...
"YES! HG blah blah blahed so we now may have the Unseen!"

These aren't Unseen.

The Unseen are exact models of Macross.

These are variations that are just different enough to avoid copyright infringements. They're in essence just different Reseen.

...hopefully.

(And lets be honest here, the old Unseens were dated and in need of a refresh anyway.)

To me, these are just refreshed Unseen.

Slightly off topic but this has been plaguing my brain for days...

I distinctly remember seeing a Marauder piloted a neo sapien in Exo Squad. I don't have access to the series so I can't sift through them but I'm pretty sure it was there. Anyone else remember seeing one?

The Marauder/Glaug Officer's Pod never appeared in the ExoSquad animated show, to the best of my recollection. (I think the show is still available on Hulu.) There were some crossover toys (which is what started the ball rolling on the whole Unseen debacle), though.

List of E-Frames, with Pictures

There was no Marauder/Glaug in ExoSquad, and some of the larger E-Frames were more generic "reverse-joint combat walkers" that bore no particular resemblance to the Glaug/Marauder.
(However, that AA-596 Amphibious Assault E-Frame could maybe resemble a KGC if one squints at it just right.)

Ironically, it was the idea of BattleMechs appearing as ExoSquad toys that started the whole Unseen mess in the first place!

I used to like Exo Squad. I remember them more as personal suits and don't remember the big robots too much. I was a fan of MechWarrior 2 and the Battletech Cartoon, so I would have thought I would have recognized a Timber Wolf in Exo Squad lol. I guess not.

The pictured unit was never in the show, but Playmates (the company producing the ExoSquad toys) was approached by FASA and provided with materials for a proposed BattleTech toyline; Playmates turned down FASA's proposal, but apparently kept some of the proposal materials and "recycled" them into toyline-specific models.

Playmates was also in a business relationship with Harmony Gold at the time, which is why there were also ExoSquad/Robotech crossover toys.

(Yes, that is J.T. Marsh from ExoSquad, piloting a VF-1 Valkyrie from Macross/Robotech.)

Posted Image
(There was a Glaug ExoSquad/Robotech toy, but that unit did not appear in the show; that is likely what Makenzie71 was thinking of.)

The suit filed by FASA against Playmates is how HG came to notice that a number of units in FASA's BattleTech happened to look an awful lot like the Macross/Robotech mecha that they were also trying to sell... and we know what happened after that.
