I don't think I qualify for it as is. I did buy the Urbie pack and Resistance 1 and 2. I think I actually had to have bought MC directly which I hadn't done.

Now the question is. Is the new Cicada worth $7 to me (lowest MC purchase amount). I don't have any other Cicadas and honestly wasn't a huge of the design (inside or out).

Then again I'm getting a Wolverine and I don't have any of those either lol.

It's the best IS light! :P
Jokes aside, it's a good chassis I liked very much while mastering it.

Isnt 240m further than any current mechs jumping range?

Are they bringing back JJs?

Extralight engine though. Please tell me they plan to introduce those with it. Because it would be a huge step in bridging the gap in balance. Even if it's still inferior weight wise.

Extra Light=XL

Light Engine=LFE

Big difference

Good build!
Probably it could jump back to a dropship if the situation becomes deteriorated 8)

That's stock, not suggested.

It's not gonna be great. AND I DON'T CARE!

I'm in my twelfth hour of squeeing. I should probably consult a physician.

Just contact a doctor if it starts to burn when you squee.

Dual PPC jumpcada. Calling PPCs quirks now.

So a 40T Shadowcat without MASC and IS tech?

And, most importantly, without ECM.

I'll still love the hell out of it, though. I'm probably the only person in the game who actually thinks the X-5 was a good investment :D

I already have a 4mpl CDA that does good enough. JJ on it will certainly make it more aggressive but don't expect the enemy to miss their shot if you fly through the air like a spider.

But faster, with quirks (most likely adequate ones, not MG range), without 5 tons of hardwired tech.

An impressive 4 hardpoints as well. I'll be honest, I think it will be better than the SadCat.

This will have about the same jumping height as a Spider 5V right? Maybe a little more? Class IV jumpjets are really powerful right now.

It will be funny how a 'mech 10 tons heavier with 2 tons less jumpjets can match the spider.

If my calculations are correct, it should get 13.04 meters per jumpjet equipped. So yes, with all eight jumpjets it should reach a height of 104 meters, which exactly matches a Spider-5V with all twelve of its jumpjets.

That is the build I was thinking, hoping for good quirks.
If not, the PPC version should be ok, since the speed would be ok for keeping the ppc minimum range.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...29364fd528a1029

40% cooling eff in smurfy is not so bad for a poptarter.

Take off a jumpjet and load up on more armour. 4x JJ should net you 52.16 meters, which about matches the Nova.

240m is in TableTop terms. MWO uses 3.7x gravity and then uses fake/arbitrary values for jumpjets that have been nerfed and buffed many times back and first. In MWO, it should come out to the values I calculated above, not 240m. =]

Spend $7 to get 1250 MC.
Add 250 already owned MC, buy X-5 Hero at 50% off this weekend.
Level up X-5 this weekend with double XPs and double c-bills.
Use c-bills earned to buy 3M.
Level up 3M this weekend with double XPs and double c-bills.
Ready for 3F to arrive and get mastered!

(I also have no Cicadas, but have thought about getting them. This is the perfect excuse.)

Anyways.

With some creative armor shaving that mostly consists of stripping the armflaps bare, you can get two large/two medium on the thing, like so. Traditional CDA-3M hunter-killer armament, though substituting PILES OF JUMP JETS for the ECM and extra sinks of the original

Pretty much what I came up with. I'm weighing the merits of going down to XL-280 to get the tonnage for BAP.

I'm technically not convinced of the value of more than 2 JJ, so that'd be another way to free up tonnage for BAP/DHS, but this might be a case where I'll have to take the whole set "just because".

This will be my first Cicada and I'm pretty excited actually. I have played Ravens a decent amount (mostly 3L since I leveled it up before quirks made the others good), and a fast medium or heavy light seems like a fun ride.

I'm debating whether to grab a pack before October to get the free Wolverine too and try out MASC.

One point I'd like to make as well that is awesome, is that the loyalty mechs are coming fully kitted out! My CN9-AH is still sitting there without DHS on it because I like my YLW more and spent my Cbills elsewhere. There are going to be free XL engines flying around my hanger too if I get more than the CDA!
