Basically no armour.... no thanks! :)

Given I don't like fast mechs anyway, I'm happy with a XL300 and something like this CDA-2A

Scat is a very, very mediocre mech. There are better mechs available in all categories except for jumping. I'm sure the chosen ones will perform just fine in it, but I feel very confined when I take mine out. That, and the side torsos detonate the moment you get spotted. Spastic torso twisting can sometimes mitigate this.

Cicadas however are a nice chassis. I have consistently done well with them, and find that they aren't focus fired on nearly as bad as the sadcat. Any mech that can go 150+ has SOME potential. I wouldn't call it a great chassis, but it's certainly in a better position than the scat, all except for the variant with 1x energy and nearly useless ballistics. (Thanks for MGs still being useless PGI, and no alternatives)

You said hitboxes, nothing above has anything to do with hitboxes other than the side torso explosion part. Either way, both mechs are pretty mediocre (2B being the only exception), I think the Cicada is a better mech for PUG matches but for more coordinated I would prefer a SCat because it has the better range capabilities.

CDA-3F
The -3F Cicada is one of the most advanced versions of this 'Mech, it's upgrades based on combat reports from the front lines of the Clan Invasion, and was introduced in 3052. The chassis has been constructed using Endo Steel construction techniques and the 'Mech is protected with six and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. The 3F is powered by an extralight engine and carries a weapons loadout that appears to be a cross between the 2A and 3C models. The primary weapon is an ER PPC, which is backed up by two medium lasers. What's more the Cicada can now jump up to two hundred and forty meters thanks to the inclusion of eight jump jets.[4] BV (1.0) = 1,202[5], BV (2.0) = 1,329

The weapons don't sound too good, hope there's more than three energy hardpoints.

But the jumping! Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

According to the new PTS4 IS quirks the CDA-3F write up is now null and void. NO ErPPC quirks! Just generic energy quirks. No real personality now, just another laser boat with better durability. Sad with the duel ErPPCs it was a fun build. O well a couple of the other CDAs got some good perks, but non of them can jump :-(.
