Have you seen the PTS man? All 4 people defending it, and yes, it really is just about 4...you guys really need to sit and think about what you're defending.

People aren't being unreasonable when you look at how far off the mark the new system really is.

Yeah, the Huggin is probably dead now. 2 launchers are just an atrocious armament for a light. Then again, everything that's not clan is pretty much done.

1 AC 20
1 AC 10
1 LBX 10
1 UAC 5
1 AC 5
2 AC 2
4 Machine guns

This is better then what some mediums can carry for ballistics, (how many AC 20's a centurion, hunchback, or shadowhawk has? 1, AC 10? 1, LBX 10? 1, etc...)

Besides the fact 4 x MG, 2 x SRM 4 was very popular with it pre quirks and was very powerful. twin LRM 20, twin LRM 15, twin LRM 10 + 2 machine guns, twin SRM 6,

There is also the mix builds that are along the lines of an SSRM 2 and SRM 6, and so on.

This thing is as good as it is before, the only difference is you will nto run out of all your ammo in 5 seconds and that the machine guns proportionally is more viable.

how about actually posting a well though out bit in the suggestions section for the PTS, specifically Ravens, and Huginn?

PGI said no weapon quirks, so we need to convince them first that there are emchs who need them if they want to get a chance of being copetitive aka balanced. Those sensor stuff is not what brings up mechs like a hugin into a valid place not even with instant acquirance and instant scan.

Exactly right -- question being how do you convince PGI when they have a build that is just not realistically usable given how they (PGI) designed it without some weapon enhancements?

Without the quirks the Huggin is the SDR-5V 2.0 .

Some mechs just need the help, period. MG being useless the Huggin has 2 missile slots and that's it. If that's all you go, or like the SDR-5V with 2 CT lasers with 2 slots total space, you need desperate help to make things viable. As mentioned by someone else even instant scan/info speed will not make these mechs viable.

Also if you think MGs are fine you've never played a MG mech. I have a Huggin and love my SDR-5K (4 MGs) and spent a good deal of time in both. 10+ seconds of 4 MG firing at a target at close range with an open CT, and not having them die, yup, that's a great weapon. You can replace those 4 MGs with 1ML in that situation and it would have probably killed the mech faster.

Read further down on page one. I did mention that the AC20 raven has some kind of merit now.

I can really only mount an AC20 with an XL255, stripping my armor down to 15-ish on STs and Legs, getting me 14 shots with it. Every other AC, I'm not too fond of. I'd rather slap SRMs on in that case.

It's going to have even less range if the PTS quirks go live.

edit: just removed 1 heatsink, put ferro, upgraded engine and armour thus making it Improved
