Gargoyle And Vulture Same Build Comparison...

I literally had to lower the Gargoyle's armor to match the Mad Dog's armor for this build to be identical.
2 uac5s, 2 srm6s, 6 uac5 ammo packs, 2 srm6 ammo packs. Gargoyle has 6 internal heat sinks, and the Vulture with 2 internal and 2 added to the feet.
I had to share this since I got a good lol out of it. I also much prefer the Vulture's weapon hardpoints. They sit higher on the mech overall.
Some mechs in this game are just straight neglected.

At least he has some E hardpoints on the inferior Omni chassis.

I suggest you try and find a better build for the gargles such as SL/ML boating. IE : 6SL/4ML

You are greatly misunderstanding the reason behind this post. I play my Gargoyle with 10 small pulse lasers since that is really the only viable build he has in my opinion. This was purely for comparison reasons, as I stated..

Fun fact: In lore, the Gargoyle and the Timber Wolf (and the Naga) are descended from the same parent first-generation omnimech from Clan Wolf, the Woodsman. I imagine that the Gargoyle is less resource-intensive than the Timber Wolf, since it doesn't use Endo-Steel for the chassis, therefore should be more common in the Clan Wolf touman. That is, if resources were taken into account in CW.

The comparison is bad 'cause you start it with an "unrealistic" scenario.
The MDD is a missile platform.
The GAR is a laser platform.
Yes both can be setup for brawl but they will both be done in different scenarios.

Oh, the gargoyle is a laser platform? Is this why the PRIME variant is exactly the same as the build I described but with uac5s instead? Besides that, you are completely overlooking the very simple reason of the comparison. For how much the Gargoyle lacks in armor for being a front line mech, there should be more tonnage available. Stop trying to justify your ridiculous argument.

Ridiculous argument? You're trying to compare 2 mechs by using a ****** build that no one would bring on the battlefield.
Also, the stocks mechs in MWO are based on stock builds from the TT game where these kind of loadouts could work.
Thirdly, the GAR is not a front line mech. It barely has more armor than a TBR, 494 vs 462 of the TBR.
The reason the GAR has such little tonnage to play with for an assault is it's locked XL400 engine. a 33.5tons engine.
It's also the reason why it runs just as fast a a clan heavy.
The GAR is a very fast brawly assault. It's role is not to be a front line mech to soak up damage. It's job is to show up as clean as possible once the brawl has started.

It was literally stated by PGI in a townhall that it IS a front line mech. You said it yourself. "It barely has more armor than a TBR", yet it has such a large engine, goes the same speed as a Timber, and has much less tonnage than it also. So much ignorance in your responses. I'm done replying.
